Hi I'm Eric

I'm an web entrepreneur and author. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm a husband to a wonderful wife and father of 5 young girls. I'm a entrepreneur web designer and marketer. I have co-founded several companies including CalendarBudget an online system that helps people manage their money and The Digital Marketing People which helps local business reach their target markets using the Internet and Social Media. I also teach Web Development as a local community college. I'm interested in music, watching good movies and helping people succeed using technology.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, but went my own way during teenage years. Before marriage in my early twenties, I attended and evaluated many different Christian and non-Christian religions. I met with teachers from other churches to understand their doctrine, but always left frustrated, confused and questioning. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has always been able to answer all my deep questions and more importantly, when I prayed about it, I felt peace when I decided to become active in the Mormon faith again. I know that peace comes from the Holy Spirit and I trust it. I continue to grow in faith and learning as I live the gospel plan.

How I live my faith

As a father, I get great satisfaction from teaching and developing my children. We hold weekly Family Home Evenings where we teach each other how to be better people and have a fun activity together. As part of my responsibilities as a Priesthood holder, I visit several families once a month to bring them a gospel message and ensure they are doing well and offer service when they are in need. I am honest in my dealings with my fellow man, even if it means admitting mistakes. I've found that people trust me and respect me because they know I will be honest and do what I say.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are like any other women expect they have high morals and know who they are, where they are going and how to get there. Women are highly esteemed in the church and work as equal partners in family relationships. The church is governed by Priesthood men but women hold very responsible positions. The church could not function without good, strong women.  My wife, Robin, is a typical Mormon woman. She is firm in her faith, seeks to live gospel principles and teach them to her family. She also serves in important positions in the church, currently as a Cub Akela in the Scouting program. Show more Show less

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The Word of Wisdom is a law of health that we live. Mormons believe that our bodies are temples of God and should be treated with great respect. We abstain from alcohol, smoking, coffee/tea and generally living a healthy life. This law was given by revelation from God before the bad effects of these substances were widely known. Aside from benefiting us with a healthier life, keeping our bodies clean and pure allows us to feel the Spirit of God more fully and receive personal revelation, which can guide and direct our lives.
