Hi I'm Nate

I’m a husband, a father of four, I enjoy the outdoors and love spending time with my family and friends and I’m a Mormon.

About Me

I live in the Pacific Northwest where I work for a software company in the Seattle area. I am a husband and the father of four great kids. I love having fun and spending quality time with my family and friends and value those relationships. I look forward to spending time in the outdoors from the ski slopes in British Columbia to the national parks of southern Utah. I enjoy movies, music, digital and social media, news media, politics, instructional technology and early American and Mormon history and its culture.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in northern Utah and have been surrounded by Mormons my entire life and have enjoyed the fellowship and community which the Church offers. I was taught the teachings of the Church as a youth and as I learned and studied it seemed to ring true to me and made a lot of sense. The answers to the questions of where I came from, why am I here on earth and where will I be going after this life were answered which brought comfort and a peace to me. Even though I was taught these things growing up there came a time in my life where I needed to find out for myself if I truly believed. Through sincere study, prayer, service and personal spiritual experiences, I have found what I have learned to be true. The Church’s focus on family, providing service to others, the sense of community and the emphasis on loving your neighbor works for me and my family.

How I live my faith

I firmly believe that how you treat others demonstrates how you live your faith. It comes down to loving your neighbor and providing service by following Christ’s example. I have work to do in these areas but I do try to treat others with respect and give them the benefit of the doubt. I try to give back to the community and actively serve in my church assignments but most importantly it’s fulfilling my responsibilities as a husband and father and the example I set for my kids. I enjoy working with youth and have had the opportunity to be a Sunday school teacher and volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America as I believe youth need additional positive role models and mentors in their lives.
