Hi I'm Nate

I am a Husband. I am a Father. I am a Texan. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Howdy, howdy! My name is Nathan and I am 30 years old. I was born and raised in the great State of Texas! My wife and I have been married for over 7 years and we have a set of two-year old twins. I graduated from BYU and am currently pursuing a law degree. Trying to balance everything the past few years has been incredibly challenging, but I absolutely love it and wouldn't change a thing. Being a husband and father have been my greatest joys in my life. My wife is the best person I know and I fall more in love with her every day. She loves our Heavenly Father. She loves our Savior Jesus Christ. She is selfless and serves others without question or complaint. She is an absolutely phenomenal mother and an even better spouse. She makes me want to be better and pursue my passions. I could not have created a better companion and I am so grateful for her. Short of the day we got married, the birth of my children was the most influential day of my life. Having them in our lives and home is unexplainable. I love them so much and look forward to helping them grow and learn. I genuinely hope that my profile can answer some of your questions about Mormons and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. May God bless and keep you always!

Why I am a Mormon

Anyone who believes in the Gospel of Jesus Christ goes through their own conversion process, meaning the defining moment in their life that they absolutely believe the gospel to be true. It doesn't happen at the same point in life for everyone; some earlier in life and some later. For me, it happened when I was 21 years old and I'll never forget the day it happened. I was at a crossroads in my life and although I've been a member all my life, I felt like I was relying on the testimony's of others. This gospel requires action on the part of those who pursue it. I had got to the point where I truly wanted confirmation for myself, so I prayed more sincerely than I had ever prayed before and studied the Book of Mormon to know that this was the true gospel. The Lord answered my prayers and assured me through the Spirit that this was the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His church. Not everyone will need an experience like Joseph Smith to know that this is our Savior's church. The promptings of the Spirit that I received were undeniable and all I needed to know. The same can happen to anyone who genuinely seeks truth. We first need faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, then we have to take action and actively seek our answer, and then the Lord will fulfill His promise and make the truth known to us. Sometimes this can be a long, slow process, but that's where faith comes in. This Gospel will stretch your spirituality in ways you never imagined, if you follow the teachings of Christ and His prophets and apostles. What an amazing gift it is to have living prophets and apostles to lead us through such a tumultuous world. What an amazing gift to have the Priesthood of God restored to bless the lives of His children. Its amazing and it's real. Anyone can receive confirmation of these things. All they have to do is ask.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to adhere to the teachings of Jesus Christ. He is the ultimate example of the type of person I want to be, so I try to live as He did and does. I have always been a firm believer in the saying, "actions speak louder than words." Although it's important to express our beliefs vocally, to me it doesn't matter if our actions are contrary to our words. Implementing the principles of the gospel into my daily life helps me live my faith. Am I perfect at it? Not even close. That is what's so special about Jesus Christ. He atoned for us so we that we can learn from our mistakes and repent for our transgressions. His sacrifice allows us to become right in the sight of our Heavenly Father. Essentially, the best way for any one of us to live our faith, is by making sound and good choices.
