Hi I'm B. Schroader

Happily married with 5 great kids, I'm enjoying life living in Arizona!

About Me

I have a passion for everything scrapbooking and family history! I love digging thru old documents and rolls of microfilm at the Family History Library searching for ancestors.

Why I am a Mormon

My ancestors were early members of the Church, joining after being taught by the likes of Joseph Smith. They came across the plains and settled in Utah. I, myself, developed my own testimony of the Church through reading the Book of Mormon and also while serving as a missionary in Switzerland teaching others about the gospel of Jesus Christ. It's teachings give me strength in all that I do.

How I live my faith

My faith is part of my every day living. I am responsible for the scheduling in our Stake Center for 4 wards and all of their activities. I also enjoy seeing my children participating in scouting and activities for the youth.

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

B. Schroader
Self-reliance should be important to every person, regardless of their religion. It is the ability of an individual to meet their most basic of needs -- food, water, and shelter. If we are prepared with some money in the bank, additional food in our pantries, and stored water, we will be able to take care of ourselves in the event of a layoff, natural disaster, or to help out someone else suffering from a disaster. About 8 years ago, my husband lost his job, and it was our savings and food storage that allowed us to live for 11 months without additional assistance to take care of our home and large family. It was a blessing of peace in a very turbulent time of our lives. Show more Show less
