Hi I'm Lisa

I'm hopeful. I'm happy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm in my Senior year of college and I just got married to my best friend in December 2009. I love life! Whether I'm playing sports with friends or cleaning out the refrigerator, I just love to make the most of it and have a good time!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this is the true church of God, and living the principles that I learn from it is the only thing that keeps me happy and gives me hope in a difficult world. The more faithfully I do what I learn in church, the better my life is, no matter what challenges come.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday I get to teach the 14-15 year old girls that go to church with me, and every Thursday we get together to do an activity just to have fun and learn more about who we are and what we're capable of doing. I try to live my faith daily by reading the holy scriptures and praying, both by myself and with my husband. We constantly look for the opportunities that God gives us to serve His other children.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Lisa
We come to know our Heavenly Father the same way that we would come to know anyone else: by spending time with Him! There are several ways that we can do that. We speak to Him through prayer; we can be completely honest with Him and just talk to Him like we would talk to our best friend, because that's exactly what He is. We thank Him for the many things that He's given us, and we ask Him for those things that only He can give us. And if we listen, He will talk to us as well. We can hear Him in several ways: by reading the scriptures, going to church, keeping our thoughts clean and our hearts pure. He will find a way to communicate with us so that we can understand His message to us. I know that He is our Father, that He loves each one of us so much, and that He is always trying to guide us and help us to feel of His love. It's just up to us to do our part to come close to Him and learn to recognize His voice. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Lisa
We know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that he is our Savior and Redeemer. He suffered for all of our sins, pains, temptations, sadness, sickness, and felt everything that we will ever feel in this life. Because of that, we can always turn to him for help, because unlike anyone else we know, he understands exactly what we're going through. He loves us so much, and that is why he made this great sacrifice. Through this sacrifice, each of us can overcome sin and death and return to live with our Heavenly Father and our families forever. We are all imperfect people going through trials, but through our Savior Jesus Christ, we can be healed, we can be comforted, and we can be happy. Show more Show less
