Hi I'm Neal

I'm a videogame-playing Mormon. Being Mormon is simply the best decision I could ever make & the best "path" I could be on now.

About Me

I've spent the last 20 years helping to create video games. While this lends me instant credibility with teenagers, parents sometimes give me a strange look ; ) I love working in the tech industry, and see innovation and creativity on a daily basis. However, I never forget that these innovations and discoveries are gifts from our Heavenly Father. With the wonders of technology come tools to accomplish great things - and tools to distract and lead us further away from a healthy relationship with Heavenly Father and our Savior, Jesus Christ. I have 4 children - two that are grown-up, a 4 year-old and a newborn. That makes for a pretty interesting family...and I love it. Music and video dominate my interests. I love just about all genres of music, and am a big fan of digital video, as well as theatrical films.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it's simply the best decision I could ever make and the best "path" I could ever be on. Being a member of the Church helps me to focus on a healthy relationship with my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ. I couldn't imagine my life without the Gospel of Jesus Christ - access to the Scriptures - the fellowship of other members of the Church - the opportunity to hold and exercise the Priesthood. I just couldn't. While membership in the Church requires me to live by standards that are higher than just "maintaining", this helps me grow and become a better person, father, son, neighbor, husband...you name it!

How I live my faith

Right now, I participate in my local Ward (congregation) as a leader in the Young Men's (youth) organization. I have the chance to teach young men from the ages of 14 to 16 - about becoming outstanding men, leaders and citizens. I take the responsibility seriously...but it's a ton of fun. Obviously, my background in video games helps me related to teen-agers easily. Hopefully, I set a good example of how to be happy while living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Previous to this, I served in my community's inter-faith council, and was able to see so much good come from folks from all walks of life. This is one of the best things that I love about being a Mormon - we don't have a professional ministry. I have a chance to contribute and serve in so many ways - from teaching and leading to singing and working. It all comes together.
