Hi I'm Alan

I am LDS and would love to tell you why!

About Me

I compete in triathlons, grew up on the east coast and love my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe the teachings of Jesus Christ. I want to be like him. I want to serve and help others as he did. I had the same questions about organized religion that Joseph Smith did when i was a teenager. I really struggled with the issues of priesthood authority. It did not make sense to me that "preachers" got authority from a college degree instead of Heavenly Father. When I realized that priesthood authority comes directly from Jesus Christ and that my church had that authority, I was converted.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing everything I can to serve and help those around me. I live my faith by showing love, giving attention to and caring for my wide, children, family, neighbors, co-workers and anyone else I come in contact with.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No, Members of the LDS faith do not worship Joseph Smith. We worship our savior Jesus Christ and his father, our Heavenly Father. We as a church respect Joseph Smith for his faith, bravery and courage. Show more Show less

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

No. Mormons do not practice polygamy. Anyone who is found living this way is ex-communicated immediately. Some small percentage of very early church members practiced this lifestyle. The church abandoned this rare practice over 150 years ago. Show more Show less
