Hi I'm Jeremy Jay

About Me

I'm an optimist! I love being a dad. My wife and I have two sons. I work in the software industry. I enjoy designing, critical thinking, problem solving and being resourceful. Life is challenging and overwhelming at times but I find strength and comfort knowing we are all brothers and sisters and that God loves each of us.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Spirit of God has answered my prayers and witnessed to me of His restored Gospel. The gospel Jesus established while he was on earth with a foundation of apostles and prophets with Jesus being the chief corner stone. Jesus gave that authority by the laying on of hands to such men as Peter, James and John. The authority they held and the full gospel taught by Christ was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith in latter days. Just as Jesus gave them authority they gave Joseph Smith authority by the laying on of hands. I know many people don't understand our religion but I love it. The teachings make sense to me and feel right in my heart. The members are not perfect but the principles and doctrine will bring you close to God. You too can come to know through missionary lessons about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Throughout the lessons please ponder the messages with an open mind, without harsh feelings, have quiet personal study and then your prayers will be answered.

How I live my faith

I suppose living my faith comes one step at a time. Deciding early on when I was young that I need Jesus, He is my Savior and Redeemer. I want to follow Him and keep His commandments. My wife and I both teach young people at church. She teaches kids between 5 and 6 years old and I teach young men 12 to 13. I really enjoy this and hope that my teaching can make a positive influence on their lives.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

Jeremy Jay
Members of our church are often called, "Mormons" because we believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God. Mormon was actually an ancient prophet who helped compile the words God inspired to be written by the people of ancient America. These words go hand in hand with the Bible and both testify that Jesus is the Christ the very Son of God. Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

Jeremy Jay
Our faith should be centered on Jesus Christ. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6 Show more Show less
