Hi I'm Brian

I'm an Engineer and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I served a mission in the South Carolina Columbia Mission. I am married to a wonderful woman and am the father of two children. I have a Masters degree in Engineering Management which I earned while working full time. I love to grow vegetable gardens especially tomatoes. I love photography and am developing that hobby. My wife and I are empty nesters and live in a 100 plus year old house which we have been remodeling since the day we moved in 13 years ago..

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church by my mother who joined later in life. I have had the opportunity to research other religions. Plus my Father is a nonmember and introduced me to his life as a nonmember. I am a Mormon because the more I study and learn the more true the church becomes. I have had the opportunity to talk with many other people in many different religions and have found the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to cover all bases. I mean it has the answers to life and eternity that gives me hope and calm of mind to know it is right. To follow Jesus Christ and try and be like him is to me the very most important thing in this life and will change the world for the better more than anything else. The scripture that mentions "By their Fruits Ye shall know them" has been a guiding light to me. The gospel always points towards service to others and helping one another at all times in all places and ways. I like that and feel it is exactly what a loving Heavenly Father would teach us so we can find true happiness in this life and the eternities.

How I live my faith

I try and live my faith by doing what I think Jesus would have me do in what ever circumstance I might be in. With the many varied callings I have held I have had opportunities to help many people with their problems. From moving people, administering to them when they have been sick or down with life burdens, to meeting with them monthly to watch over them and provide friendship and stability. I try and lighten other peoples burden in what ever way I can to make the world a better place for all.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

We believe that it is through the grace of our Savior and Heavenly Father that we have an opportunity to be saved. When we take upon ourselves the name of Christ through baptism by those who hold the proper authority we are to try and be like our Savior. If we truly are converted we will do all we can to follow the teachings of our Savior and be like him. But because we are not perfect we will fall short. Thus because of the love and grace of our Savior and through our true repentance we will be able to be saved and received the promised blessings. Show more Show less
