Hi I'm M. St. Pierre

I was baptized when I was 18 years old and it was the best decision I made.

About Me

I am a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was raised a Catholic; I attended a Catholic elementary school; I was an alter boy, but my family really wasn't very regular in going to church. I grew up with a strong faith and belief in Jesus Christ but always felt like there was something missing. I was raised by good parents who taught me to have good moral values and to try to be an honorable man. Throughout my youth and teenage years I had a number of instances where I truly felt the Holy Ghost guiding me and providing me with the comfort I needed. However, more often than not my prayers and communication with God lacked me doing my part. I sometimes prayed to God but it was more often than not the juvenile prayers of a young boy who had procrastinated doing something and at the last minute asked God to provide a 'miracle' (such as doing good on a test I never studied for) or asking God to turn me into something I wasn't (such as asking to be taller or have better complexion). I am now an active member of the church and I do my best to live the gospel and keep the commandments, as best as I understand them. I am a husband and father trying to lead, provide for, and love my family to the best of my ability. My church membership is a great blessing to me in my life, and the source of all good things in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I love my family more than anything and I want to have the opportunity to be united together for eternity. I received a personal testimony of the true nature of families and the eternal bonds of the family as I learned about the gospel from the missionaries when I was 17 years old. The other aspect of the gospel that resonated strongly with me was repentance and the plan of salvation. In my life I know I have made mistakes and I know that Heavenly Father has forgiven me; and this knowledge was a strong influence in my testimony and faith. I am a mormon because at times in my life I feared becoming something far worse than what I am today and I feared not being a good husband and father. By living the gospel and keeping the commandments I receive strength and support to be a better man. I am a mormon because I have been blessed by the power of the priesthood and I believe in modern day revelation and prophets. I am a mormon because I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is TRUE!

How I live my faith

I am no 'scriptorian' or scholar, but I do my best to live my faith day in and day out. I try to treat others with honesty and integrity, as a disciple of Jesus Christ. I try to stay involved in the lives and activities that my kids participate in. I want them and their friends to have good influences in their lives, especially as they participate in activities and sports. I enjoy serving with the young men in our ward. I have learned a lot and developed a stronger testimony through my time as a boy scout leader and participating in various youth activities. I remember being a young boy and going on snow trips and campouts; and the good leaders I had. I am grateful to be able to pay that back. I enjoy the opportunity to serve and help others; so being a home teacher for families in my ward and visiting them regularly to discuss their needs and the gospel is very enjoyable for me. I really do try to live by the 'Golden Rule' - I try to treat others as I would like to be treated.
