Hi I'm David

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student studying psychology. I love listening to and playing music. Sometimes I read books.

Why I am a Mormon

It fills a need in my life. I feel closer to God when I follow the church's teachings.

How I live my faith

I do hometeaching, which means that I go to the houses of a few members of our ward each week and share a gospel message with them and see what I can do to help them. I'm also our ward webmaster. That's pretty intense.

Are Mormons Christians?

We honestly try to follow Christ, so I think in the sense that matters we are Christian. We believe in and follow his teachings in the New Testament. We believe that through him we're forgiven for our sins. We have different beliefs from many mainstream Christian churches, and that makes some say that we're not true Christians, but I think that we're Christian in practice, and that's what really makes someone Christian or not. Do Mormons only help Mormons?

No, the church sends humanitarian aid to many countries in crisis. We've donated lots of money to measles eradication and are helping villages in Africa secure sources of clean water. That's one of the things that I love about the church, we try to take care of all of God's children, not just the ones who are a part of our church. Show more Show less

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

No, Mormons are encouraged to study the issues and make their own decisions based on their own conscience. The church occasionally will take a stand on an issue with moral relevance, such as abortion or same-sex marriage, but doesn't dictate how its members should or should not vote. Show more Show less
