Hi I'm Anthony Mark

About Me

I'm 22 years old and attedning Utah State university right now. I'm a liberal arts major hoping to become a college professor one day. At Utah State I spend my time playing guitar, basketball, and Ultimate Frisbee. I've spent some time away from home and know how lonely life can be without some help.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because of one simple occurance, I heard the voice of the Lord telling me it was true. I remember one hot night in the Amazon Rain Forest, after having studied the Book of Mormon, I decided to once again, as I had done many times before, ask our Father in Heaven in prayer about the book's truthfulness. I asked earnestly, expecting an answer. I waited for I don't know how long until I heard a voice as clear day proclaim to me, "Of course it is true... moron!" Iopenedmy eyes, shocked actually to hear it. That voice has stayed with me ever since and has helped me through any questions I have had. I know that the Book of Mormon is true because God told me so, and I can't deny it.

How I live my faith

To be honest, all I do is go and listen to sweet spirit each week in church.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Anthony Mark
I receive personal strength, when the trials come I know, through my study, that others have gone through this and that Christ is always able to help me. In the scriptures we never hear of Christ with closed arms, that's because His arms are always wide open to welcome us... unless He's embracing us. I know that Christ is my Redeemer and Savior, I know this through constant reading of the sacred scriptures. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

Anthony Mark
At death our body and spirit seperate. Our body stays in the Earth and our spirit goes to the Spirit World. In the Spirit World are two sides, Paradise and Prison. 1 Peter 3:18-20 speaks of this Spirit Prison where Christ went when He was, "...being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the spirit...(18)" went and preached unto the spirits there found. Prison is for the unjust souls while Paradise is for the just. Prison is a state of torment and anguish while Paradise is only rest and peace. After this all men are ressurected from the grave, that is that all spirits will regain their physical bodies, whole. This gift was promised to all men (1 Corinthians 15:22-23). With a ressurected body we will be ready for the Final Judgement and will be judged according to our works here on the Earth. God has prepared several place for our eternal habitation, according to our deeds while here. 1 Corinthians 15:40-42 explains about 3 glories, the glory of the sun, the moon, and the stars. Paul then says, "So also is the ressurection of the dead. (42)" There is the Celestial Glory or the glory of the sun, the Terrestial Glory, or the glory of the moon, and the Telestial Glory, or the glory of the stars. The Celestial Glory is reserved for those who have made and kept all the necessary promises or had them dne for them. Show more Show less
