Hi I'm Linda

I'm a Mormon - a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

About Me

I'm a wife, mother, and grandmother. I love my family, art, music, genealogy, and being a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I began searching for the true church in my early twenties. I was concerned that there were so many different religions, each professing to be the correct way. I thought that God, who was not the author of confusion, must approve of only one church, and I set out to find it. I thought that the true church should have prophets, apostles, revelation, and the gifts of the spirit that are mentioned in the Bible. I wondered why God didn't speak to us today and why there weren't more scriptures in addition to the Bible. I felt that if there ever was a need for God to speak to his children, it was in these days. After a few years of searching I met a young Mormon woman who finally convinced me to allow the missionaries into my home to tell me about the church, but I was hardened to their message and didn't believe them. During one visit, however, the Spirit of the Lord bore a powerful witness to me that what they were teaching me was true. Though I didn't understand everything they taught me, I knew that what they said was true. I was baptized a few days later and felt as clean as a baby. I knew my sins were forgiven and that the Lord was pleased with me. I have never looked back. I love being a Mormon. It is my life.

How I live my faith

My husband and I chose to serve a fulltime mission to show the Lord our appreciation for his love.

Why do Mormons believe in “eternal life?”

If this life was all there was to my existence, wow - I can't even imagine what it would be like. I know that I lived with God before I came here to the earth and I know that I will be with him and with my family after this life. This is what keeps me sane, what keeps me going. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

A lot of people wonder why missionaries teach people who are already Christians. It's because there is more, much more, than just believing in Christ. There is good in all religions and we don't reject that good - we add to it. We want others to find the joy and peace that we have found. This is what motivates us to go to all the world and teach everyone who will listen. We are all God's children and he loves each of us and wants us all to return to him. We love our brothers and sisters and want them to be eternally happy. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a member of the Church isn't just a Sunday thing for me - it's my life, and it is part of everything I do from the time I wake up in the morning until I go to bed. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon answered my questions, "Why doesn't God continue to speak? Why did he stop with the Bible? Aren't other people as important as those who lived in Old and New Testament times?" The Book of Mormon is the word of God written by prophets who are as real as those who wrote the Bible. Show more Show less
