Hi I'm Michael

About Me

I am an ordinary person who has been blessed in an extraordinary way. I have a beautiful wife and 4 children. I am self employed. I own a bicycle shop. I have been fixing and selling bicycles since 1984. I enjoy researching my family history and learn more about my ancestors. My family loves to go camping, fishing and we love to ride fourwheelers when we can.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I descend through a very long line of Mormons. I am a 6th generation Mormon. My great, great, great, grandfather Benjamin Franklin Taylor and his family joined the church in the year 1840. Even though I was born into this church, there came a point where I had to decide for myself to be a Mormon. It is difficult for me to put into words how I feel and what I know, but I have felt and heard the whisperings of God none the less, I know that this is His church, restored to the earth. I have received a personal witness of Jesus Christ; that he is my personal savior and redeemer. He has restored His church here on the earth. His church has been restored with living Apostles and Prophets. I know God speaks to us not only through Prophets and Apostles but through additional scriptures. These are in addition to The Holy Bible; namely the Book of Mormon, The Doctrine and Covenants and The Pearl of Great Price. I have read these books and have prayed to know that they are the words of God.

How I live my faith

One of the parts of my faith I enjoy the most is it gives me the opportunity to serve others in the community. I have worked with youth age 12-18 most of my married life. I have participated in activities such as; service projects, sporting events, scouting, camp-outs, firesides and many more. Having an opportunity to give back to others as I try to live my faith is very rewarding.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith was a man that lived in the 1800 's and through whom God restored his church to the earth. At a young age (14) Joseph was confused about religion and which church he should join. He believed that God was not the author to so much contradictory doctrine and confusion and he wanted to do Gods will. He prayed to know from God what he was to do, and which church he should join. In answer to his humble prayer, Joseph saw God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. He was told to join none of the religions on the earth and that at a future date Joseph would be instrumental in restoring Gods church and priesthood power and authority to the earth. He was called as a prophet, seer and revelator. He translated an ancient record now called the Book of Mormon which is another testament of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
