Hi I'm TJ Hendriksen

I'm a husband, a father of four boys, an alpaca owner, a soccer fan and a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a father to four wonderful sons and a husband to an amazing wife. Those are the most important titles in my life; husband and father. My mom is from Colombia and the Colombian culture is a big part of my life. I love everything about my Colombian culture. I served a mission of the church in Mexico in the Culiacán, Sinaloa area for two years. Those two years were some of my best years of my life. I have a bachelor's degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship, an MBA (Masters of Business Administration) and MHA (Masters of Healthcare Administration). Life could not be busier but I could not be happier with my life.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was born my parents were Mormon so naturally I went to the mormon church with them. I learned about their teachings and when I was eight I was baptized. The older I got the more I realized how the teachings of the Mormon church would be a benefit to me. I know that as I follow and try to live the teachings of the church I am blessed for my efforts. The answers I have received as I have prayed to our Heavenly Father lets me know that this is his true church. I have felt happiness, peace, joy, comfort, and many other good feelings. Now that I am married and have a son the teachings of the church is the best thing that can be done to help strengthen our family.

How I live my faith

One of the ways I live my faith is through my responsibilities in the church. I currently have an assignment to teach a class on Sundays. I love being able to study the different topics and share my thoughts and feelings to other members and visitors. The other way I live my faith is trying to do what Jesus would do if he was here. I try to be kind and friendly to everyone. I try to help those in need whether that is at work or just out doing normal activities. It is important to me that I try to my best to be the same seven days a week rather than just on Sundays or when it is convenient to me.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

TJ Hendriksen
I know that God continues to call prophets today. Today Thomas S Monson is the prophet that has been called from God to lead and guide us as Moses did. It is necessary that God communicates His will to His children even today. God loves us so much that He wants to let us know what we need to do in order to live with Him someday. I know that as we follow what President Thomas S Monson teaches us today, because the words that he teachs are the words that God wants us to hear, we can feel closer to God, receive His blessings and someday live with Him. How can I know Mormonism is true?

TJ Hendriksen
I was born into a family that was already Mormon. My parents taught me the principles that Mormons believe and took me to church. They never forced me to go to church and if I did not want to go I did not have to. I saw how happy my parents were and still are and never had reason to doubt them. I believed it was true because I trusted my parents. When I was 15 years old I went to EFY (Especially for Youth) a summer program the Mormon Church put on throughout the country and we as a group were singing a hymn. As we were singing I had a feeling that came over me that told me the church was true without a doubt. I had wanted to know for sure for myself and prayed for an answer. I knew God had answered my prayer at that time. I know the Mormon Church is true because I wanted to know and I asked God. He answered my prayer. Show more Show less
