Hi I'm Jed.

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm just an average, middle class guy with a wife and two kids living in a suburb of Spokane, WA. I love to golf, even though I'm not all that great at it. I find true joy in serving others inside and outside of the church.

Why I am a Mormon

This is the only way that I have been able to find true joy in life. Learning about the Plan of Happiness our Heavenly Father has for us and my role in that plan has allowed me to know why I am here and where I am going.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others. And while I have a long way to go with becoming like Jesus I know that every day that I try my hardest I can improve.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

The scriptures tell us that we are to tithe from our increase. The word tithe means "tenth." I served a mission in Panama and the word for tithing is "diezmo" and of course ten in Spanish is "diez." Anyway, tithing is used to pay for things like copies of the Book of Mormon, building temples, church buildings and many other things that help in building the Kingdom of God here on Earth. Tithing is not, however, used to pay the clergy as in many other churches. All of the positions within the church are done on a voluntary basis. Tithing shows that we are willing to give up a portion of the funds/increase that Heavenly Father has blessed us with. And since it's all His anyway, it's really not too difficult especially considering the blessings that will come into your life when you pay a full and honest tithe. Show more Show less
