Hi I'm Dalan

I love Choral music, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a college student at BYU studying Music. Music, especially in a gospel context, is my greatest passion in life. I have a family in Idaho that loves and supports me, and i'm very grateful for them. I have had the blessing of being born into the church and being raised by righteous parents.

Why I am a Mormon

Because it makes me happy and full of joy. The knowledge of the atonement, and the plan of salvation has given me an outlook on life that makes me glad to be alive. I know the teachings of this church will bring people closer to God and Jesus Christ which, in turn, makes them happy.

How I live my faith

I'm serving in my ward right now as the Ward Music Chair. I coordinate with Choir directors, the bishop and others to make sure that, musically, the ward is functioning properly. more importantly, i'm preparing to serve a full time mission in Cuiabá Brazil soon, and i'm excited to share the Gospel with those people.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Yes, husband and wife can be together forever. Through a special ordinance called a "sealing," couples can be together with their families for not only this life, but the next. I know that is true with every fiber of my being. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No. We do not worship Joseph Smith, but we do revere him as a prophet of God. Show more Show less

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

This has always been a fun topic to discuss with people. A lot of mystery seems to shroud the temple and what goes on there. let me see if i can explain it. First off, to enter the temple you must be a member who has a certificate of worthiness called a 'temple recommend.' In the temple, Members make special covenants and commitments with God the father. The covenants that we make can also be done for the dead, who either accept or reject them on the other side. The things that happen in the temple are not secret, but they are extremely sacred to those who go there, and aren't treated lightly either inside or outside of the temple. hopefully I haven't left anything out. :) Show more Show less
