Hi I'm Scott

I'm a Mormon and am undeniably happy because of it.

About Me

I am a returned missionary for the church. I loved every minute of it because we were able to see the spirit of the Lord change many people's hearts. I am a son in a family of six boys. Even though we all grew up in the Latter-day Saint faith, we each had to find our own testimony of the restored gospel. I am very grateful for my whole family's example for me. I love to play music, read books and watch movies. I have performed around the United States and some of Europe. Performing music is a great way to express your feelings. I am currently going to college learning Arabic.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because of the Holy Ghost speaking to my heart time and time again. When so much of the world says to live in a completely different way I find myself constantly longing to live the way Christ would have me live, which has been restored through this church. I was raised in a Latter-day Saint family and baptized at age eight. I still remember my baptism to this day and remember the amazing feeling of the spirit come upon me as I came out of the water. And just as I remember my own feelings of my baptism, I have seen others enter into the waters of baptism and see that they felt the same. The gospel of Jesus Christ restored in these last days and believe and live it is just as much of a matter of faith and obedience as when Christ was on the earth. Most didn't believe Him, but those that did were richly blessed. It is the same today, believing that Christ has spoken (and still does) to a prophet of God in our day takes much faith and action, which then is fulfilled with great blessings of joy and happiness. I see these blessings each day and I see it bless others each day. That is why I am a Mormon and believe in all it's doctrine and practices.

How I live my faith

I strive my best to fulfill all the commandments. In the church we hold many positions or callings throughout our lives. I have been in many callings in the church such as a Sunday school teacher to the bishop's executive secretary. It's a great way to keep the faith and know that we all have a part in God's kingdom on earth. I strive each day to read the scriptures and pray. I am always trying to build my relationship with my Savior.

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes, we are very much Christians. As a missionary in Seattle I taught a family from the Presbyterian church. Though this family did not convert to the Latter-day Saint faith, they expressed to us the great disputation their church gave them and said we were not Christians. But they stood up for us and said that according to the principles that Christ himself set, we as Mormons live them more fully than any other religion or people they had known. The word Christian includes the word Christ. We believe in the Jesus Christ as our Savior and undeniably proclaim Him as our only way back to the Father. Show more Show less
