Hi I'm Lisa

I am a wife and a mother of two beautiful girls. I am a photographer and an obsessed blogger. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated in Business Marketing, shortly after my first child was born. I worked hard getting through my last year of school. When I was through we, my husband and I, made the decision that I would stay home with our children. He would be responsible for working for the money and I would be responsible for making the money work for us. We now have two beautiful daughters. They and their father mean everything to me. I love to go on nature walks with my two little ones and talk about all of our Father-in-Heaven's beautiful creations. I love to photograph my family. I love to sew. I love to design unique clothes from recycled fabrics for my little girls. I love understanding what is going on in our nation and the world. I feel like being a mother has allowed me to not only teach my children what I am interested in but magify my interests and grow in ways I could have never thought possible.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the faith of my parents. My parents, grand-parents and great-grandparents were all memebers of this church. I continued in the faith of my parents because as I have had questions about life, my faith gave me answers. The more I studied the scriptures and listened to the words of the prophet and apostals the more clear the answeres to life became in my mind. The clarity and peace still comes and sustains me through all the difficulties life throws at me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by teaching the sisters once a month the words of modern day prophets and apostals. I live my faith by loving the women I serve. I strive to be a little better every day. I know I am far from perfect but ever day I try to think of at least one thing I can do to bless someone elses life. As a mother, I live my faith by teaching my children about Jesus Christ and what it means to be like him. And also, by teaching them, my daughters, about morals and modesty.

How is the Book of Mormon different from the Bible? How did Joseph Smith obtain the “golden plates” or Book of Mormon?

I don't know about differences only similarities. The Book of Mormon teaches us about Jesus Christ. It is truly another book of scripture about Him. Studying these two books of scripture together, has open my eyes to a great understanding of who the Savior is and was. I have come to clearly understand who I am and why I personally need a Savior. And why my Savior needs me to be his hands and do his works. Joseph Smith saw God, our Father and his Son Jesus Christ. He obtained the Book of Mormon from an angel. I know this is true. I know anyone who will take the opportunity to read and study the words of the Book of Mormon and pray to know if the words of this book are true, they will recieve a testimony of its divine origin through the power of the Holy Ghost. Who was Joseph Smith?

He was a prophet of God, just like Abraham, Issac, or Moses. He said a humble prayer in a grove of trees asking for truth. He was visited by Our Father-in-Heaven and Our Savior Jesus Christ and was given the truth he sought and asked to teach others this truth. I guess if I wasn't a member of this church that story may sound a little fantastic. However, the pages of the Bible our filled with fantastic true stories,. Is it not possible that these things could happen today? Is it not possible that Our Father-in-Heaven loves us the same as he loved the people in ancient times? Is it not possible that he would call a prophet to lead and guide us and bring us clarity. I know it is possible and that it is true. Show more Show less

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

I love this question. I think if you are asking it you are on a good path. Alot of people wade through the thick of life and never ask themselves meaningful questions. You can increase your faith in Jesus Christ by devoting time each day to talk to him. A friend once told me, "Lisa, if you pray then you exhert more faith than most people do in a life time." Pray more. Read your scriptures and answers will come and your faith will increase. Also, follow God's commands and watch him bless you and your faith will increase. Show more Show less

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Temples are used to bind families together eternally. I love my husband and my two girls and am grateful for the comfort that we will be together forever. I had a very close friend who lost her husband in a tragic accident and as my young daughter was trying to processes the events in her mind she would ask, "What if you or Daddy die?" I was able to tell her with all faith and confidence I have that she need not worry because we are an eternal family and death would never seperate us. We would miss each other for a little while but we would be together again. I love the temple. I go there often and am filled with peace and hope. Show more Show less

What is the difference between attending a Mormon Church and a Mormon Temple?

The temple is the next step in our faith. When you become a member of our church you make covenants to always remember your Savior and to strive to be like him. Once a week at church you renew those covenants by partaking of the sacrament, a sacred ordinance were you partake of the bread and water as emblems that represent the Savior. In the temple you make more covenants and strength your resolve to become like the Savior, because of the significants of these covenants you must be prepared to make them. Therefore, you must be a member for at least a year to attend the temple but anyone can attend church and everyone is welcome. Show more Show less
