Hi I'm Wendy Elizabeth

About Me

I live in Southern California with my wonderful husband. I have two children who are both grown. I have one granddaughter. I love to travel and we have been fortunate enough to do a lot of traveling to different countries. I am busy with church, family, and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that God lives and Jesus is the Christ, the only begotten son of our Heavenly Father. I know that Jesus came to the this earth to atone for our sins and provide a way for us to return to our Heavenly Father, without Him we would be lost forever. I know we that Joseph Smith saw God, the Father, and his son, Jesus Christ, in a grove in upper state New York. He restored the gospel to the earth as directed by the God. He translated the Book of Mormon which is another testament of Jesus Christ. It is also a record of the people of this continent. I know our Heavenly Father hears our prayers and gives us answers to them. I know that we have a living prophet today, Thomas S. Monson. I know this church is the only true church on the earth today!

How I live my faith

I serve in my ward as a ward missionary. This gives me an opportunity to visit members, especially the women and see how they are doing and invite them to come back to church if they have not been in a while. I love to give service whenever I am called upon to serve and when there is an opportunity to do so.

Wendy Elizabeth
The priesthood is given to the men to perform in God's name. Women lead in organizations where the children are involved, young women are involved, and the women are involved. There are many opportunities for women to serve and lead in these areas.  Show more Show less

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Wendy Elizabeth
Mormon women are like very other woman you see around you. We have the nature feelings of women and in such we honor womanhood. We believe that there is an equality of men and women. Man cannot be without the woman and woman cannot be without man. We are a team and work together in harmony. We do not feel like we are less than man but we are made to feel the sanctity of womanhood. Show more Show less

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Wendy Elizabeth
Mormon Church services are simple in comparison to other churches. We sing hymns, pray, partake of the sacrament which are the bread and water symbols of Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for us. We have talks given by members of our ward. Visitors are always welcome. We invite all to come and attend with us. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Wendy Elizabeth
We believe in the Bible because it is the word of God. It gives genealogy records and testimonies of the birth of Jesus Christ from the Old Testament and in the New Testament it gives us the account of the Savior--his birth, ministry, cruifixon, and resurrection.  Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Wendy Elizabeth
I know that Mormonism is true because I have prayed and asked God if it is true. The way I received my answer was a burning within in me that I could not deny that this church is true.  Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Wendy Elizabeth
The Atonement of Jesus Christ is where Jesus Christ took upon himself all of our sins and suffered for them. His needed to give his life as sign of sealing that act. Our part is that we need to repent because he paid for those sins in the Garden of Gethesame when he bled from every pore. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Wendy Elizabeth
We perform baptisms for the dead because each person needs to have this important ordinance done whether living or dead. The person still has a choice whether to accept or deny this work that has been done for him/her. Show more Show less

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Wendy Elizabeth
The blessings you can receive is that you will know for yourself that these scriptures are true and that they testify of Jesus Christ and his divine role here on earth. Also you will receive the peace and confirmation that this church is true. You will see how each book of scripture works in harmony with the other and that they all point to the Savior. What do Mormons believe about family?

Wendy Elizabeth
We believe in the eternal nature of families. We believe that we can be a forever family by being married in an LDS temple for not only time but for eternity. We are then linked to our children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, etc. We believe that we are also responsible to see that our ancestors have this same opportunity by seeking out their names through researching our genealogy lines and making sure they receive the blessings of the temple by proxy. The bonds are then strengthened on each side of the veil. It makes me happy to know that I will be able to see the many members of my family that I have been able to do this work for them. I know this is all possible through the priesthood and through the atonement of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
