Hi I'm Joseph T.

About Me

I'm a recent graduate who worked my way through college while supporting my family. I'm the husband of a beautiful wife and father to three cute kids. Besides spending time with my family and being a teacher, I love to draw, read, and create things with my hands. I love to enjoy the beautiful things that God has created for us- nature is wonderful.

Why I am a Mormon

Years ago, I was looking for truth. I found that truth in the Gospel. I decided that I was going to be a preacher and share that knowledge that I had found with people in a place far from where I lived. I went to Seattle to work on a fishing boat in order to get the money I needed to travel and provide for my basic needs while I preached. When I got there, however, Heavenly Father had another plan for me. He guided my feet to an LDS chapel where I was taken in by a loving elderly couple who saw in me some good. A couple of years later, I found myself fulfilling my dream of preaching His Gospel. Heavenly Father loves each of us enough to provide for our needs and desires. He took this broken man and made me whole through the realization of my dream to share the Gospel. Were it not for His guidance and inspirations, I know that I would be lost. Jesus lives and loves us. Open your heart to this, and you will know it is true for yourself.

How I live my faith

One thing that I am constantly trying to be better at is being a friend. It takes work, but home teaching is one of the ways that I get to practice being that "better" friend. I really like the families that I am responsible for. One thing that I've found is that being a home teacher means more than just going over once a month, it means taking the time to be there for those you are responsible for. I love getting to know my families that I am responsible for and spending time with them. Helping them, being there for them, and being a friend to these people is what the Savior would do if he were here amongst us; it's the least that I can do for my fellow man.

What is faith?

Joseph T.
Faith is the first principle, or step, in the Gospel. In order to take in and fully understand all that the Gospel has to offer, you must first take that step of faith. Someone may ask: "How do you know when you're taking that step of faith?" The plain and simple truth is this: When you are following what your heart and mind tell you is right; when the light on your path ends and you feel the urge to go forward, but you don't know if you can; when you know that it's the right step to make, but you aren't sure how to go about putting your foot there for a sure hold- faith is that muscle you exercise to give you that the strength you need to follow that path and take that next step. It's knowing what is true and what needs to be done and then taking that truth and turning it into your strength. Show more Show less
