Hi I'm Chelsea Anne

About Me

I have been a member of the church since 1974 when I was 11 years old living in Puerto Rico. I have lived in different states throughout my life and have met many wonderful people: Florida (twice), Utah, Idaho, New Mexico, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Illinois. I enjoy my two cats, Lucy and Baby, reading, creative writing, swimming, going to the beach, being with my friends, photography, surfing the net and traveling. I enjoy being with others and helping when I can. I have multiple sclerosis since 1984 and I am doing very well, considering. I have never been married and count my friends and my church as my family. I was disowned by my family for being a member of the church and even though that has been extremely hard for me, doing genealogy has helped heal some of that pain.

Why I am a Mormon

In general, I would not be alive today if I didn't have the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. I grew up in a very violent home and I was taught to use drugs and participate in other very risky, violent behavior. But I joined the church where I learned that I am a CHILD of God, literally, literally! He loves me completely, unconditionally, no matter what and I need that in my life. Jesus Christ, my Savior, loves me too and died and was resurrected, for me, so I could be somebody in this life and in the life to come. I have had some very special miracles in my life where there were no other logical explanations for the events. Even those who claimed not to be believe in God or miracles, were dumbfounded. I stay active now and participate in the gospel because whenever I feel lost, terrible, I KNOW that I am NOT alone, that I have a purpose in life, that God has a work for me to do, NO MATTER what happens in the world, no matter what happens in my life. I am also a member because by participating in the gospel, I have learned to find peace that lasts, to appreciate God's creations (I LOVE nature, my cats, beautiful plants, the beach, all the stars at night) as gifts for me. At times I have been very sick with the multiple sclerosis and my cats are literally God-sent.

How I live my faith

To keep my spiritual self alive and well I read the scriptures daily, pray daily, go to church weekly and sometimes to fun activities at church during the week. At least quarterly, I go to the Holy Temple (it is about 2 hours drive from home), a very special time for me. So peaceful and beautiful! I love doing genealogy and finding out about my family. I am what is known as "visiting teacher" where we visit other women in our ward (church group) once a month (more if they have special needs) and discuss a spiritual topic and see how they are doing overall.

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Chelsea Anne
Yes! It is really true. There were stories passed down for hundreds of years by the American Indians and other native people in Central and South America of a being like a god who came among them and did miracles. But most of all, after I read about Jesus's visit with the children and His blessing among them as written in the Book of Mormon (3 Nephi 17), the feeling that engulf my whole body could not be denied. What BEAUTIFUL scripture! It is my most favorite in all the sacred scriptures. Show more Show less

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Chelsea Anne
The Mormon Church does not endorse any political parties. As members of the church, we are asked to be involved in our communities and to uphold the laws of our countries. This involvement can be by voting for a candidate we believe to represent how we personally feel about a particular issue to volunteering in our communities in any activities we are interested in, to running for office representing issues important to us personally.
