Hi I'm Cathy

About Me

I am married and a mother of five children. My family and my faith are the most important things to me. I am a sports enthusiast. I use to play sports more for recreation and exercise, but now because of injuries, I just coach my children's city ball teams. I enjoy watching college and NFL football with my sons. As a profession, I am running a daycare out of my home. There is nothing more important than giving children a good, safe, educational, and loving environment to be in. I am not rich or famous, but I am very happy and satisfied with my life and with who I am.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Mormon. But, I still needed to find my own testimony and decide for myself if this is what I wanted. I have read the Book of Mormon many times and have felt such a wonderful feeling when I read that book. I have had the spirit testify to me so many times over the years, and it is not something I can deny. I have asked myself many times that if there is no God, then what is this world all about. It only makes sense to know that there is a design, a plan, a reason for all the good and the bad that happen in the world. The gospel gives me faith and hope. It gives me answers to so many questions. It gives me an understanding of why I am here, what I need to do here on this earth, and that YES, there is something after we die. The gospel gives my life purpose. I am a Mormon, because I have read the scriptures and prayed to my Heavenly Father to know if it is true. I have received and answer by having a warm feeling in my heart and a knowledge in my mind that yes, this is right, this is good, this is true.

How I live my faith

I love serving in the church. There is nothing better than to be involved. I worked with the Young Women (ages 12 - 18) for many years and I loved going to girls camp, sports, and being able to teach the Young Women. I have also served by helping to organize ward functions and gatherings. Currently I get to work with the Primary children (ages 18mo to 12). I am the chorister and I get to sing with the children every Sunday. There are many ways to serve in the church and this is by far one of my favorite. I also enjoy being able to take a meal into a family who is sick, or had surgery, or just had a baby. Nothing better than helping each other out!!

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

We believe that when we die we go to either spirit prison or paradise depending on the way we have lived our lives. We believe that the people who have not had the opportunity to learn about the gospel while they lived on the earth will have the chance to learn about the gospel in the spirit world. Death is not the end, or else this world would make no sense. Show more Show less
