Hi I'm Janae

I'm a happy wife and mother who loves her handsome boys! I love playing sports and trying new things. And I am a mormon.

About Me

My husband and son are everything to me. My husband is a law student and I get to stay home with our sweet baby boy. Our son was born with a heart condition and had open heart surgery at 5 days old. His life is a miracle to me and we are so grateful for him in our life. I graduated with a degree in Public Health. I still love my brownie, cookies, and ice cream, but I enjoy exercising and healthy living. I love ALL sports and will join in any pick-up game of volleyball, basketball, soccer, or frisbee. I love finding bargains, trying new recipes, meeting new people, and skyping with family across the country.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love it! Everything about it has brought me happiness and direction to my life. I am a Mormon because the church is complete and makes sense. I grew up going to church and I've always liked it, but just as everyone, I had to experience my own personal conversion to it's teachings. I prayed and asked God, I studied the scriptures, and I researched its teachings. For a little bit I didn't know what exactly I was looking for, but it soon became clear to me that the Lord was indeed answering me and it was an obvious answer that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His true church. I knew because of how I felt and what I learned reading the Book of Mormon. I knew it because when I shared it with other people, my heart would warm up and I had a feeling of absolute surety that it was true. I am a mormon because the church has truths that were once lost and have been brought back to the earth to bless us.

How I live my faith

My faith is truly part of everything I do. As a mother, it is my faith in the Jesus Christ that guides my daily parenting decisions. It helps me prioritize my life. By simply practicing the principles of the Gospel, I am better able to teach my son and be a support and friend to my husband. As I learn of the Savior's life, I try to live my life as He did. I strive to be a good neighbor and friend. I strive to serve those in need and help others find peace and happiness.

What is the difference between attending a Mormon Church and a Mormon Temple?

We go to church every Sunday and partake of the sacrament. It's 3 hours long and an important part of keeping the Sabbath day holy. There we learn from each other and from the scriptures. We study the words of the prophets and apply it all to our lives. The temple is an even more sacred place where ordinances are performed. Here people are married and sealed for time and all eternity! That can only be done in the temple. We also do work for those that were not able to do it themselves. The scriptures say that no unclean thing can enter into the kingdom of God, so work is done for those that were never baptized. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

We definitely do! The Bible was written by prophets inspired by God. They recorded what the Lord asked them record so that we could be blessed in these days. There are tons of different versions or editions of the Bible and we use the King James Version. As long as the scriptures are translated correctly and in the way the Lord intended, it is definitely sacred scripture to us and we study from it and apply its teachings to our lives.
