Hi I'm Matt

I'm a husband, father, teacher, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to the wonderful lady in my picture for a few years now. I recently graduated with a Masters Degree in Music Education and Wind Conducting. I was fortunate to find a teaching job this year, and am happy to be able to support my family. My son is about to turn one year old and we have two shih-tzu dogs that are two years old. My life is fairly busy with activities and events, but I always enjoy the quiet moments. I enjoy the outdoors and I especially enjoy building and creating. I like to upgrade my home and I am sure my wife likes it too!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I came to the realization that Jesus Christ is my savior and through his atonement, has allowed me to return to my Heavenly Father. Also, I realized that Joseph Smith Jr. was a true prophet called by our Heavenly Father. The Holy Ghost warmed my soul and confirmed to me that The Book of Mormon is true and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only true church on the Earth today.

How I live my faith

I was a counselor for the young men organization in my previous ward, but in my new ward I teach Gospel Doctrine. I try to be as active as I can with the missionaries. I also love to home teach and visit families in the church. Day to day challenges often create opportunities to demonstrate principles that I know to be true. I always try to live with the love of Christ in my heart. Being an example is very important to me because I know that if I love my Savior Jesus Christ, I will keep His commandments. My wife and I share family prayer and scripture study every evening and share the gospel with people when possible.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the literal Son of God. We believe that Jesus was called to atone for the sins of the world so that we may enter into the presence of our Heavenly Father once again. Show more Show less
