Hi I'm Holly Christine

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass…it's learning to dance in the rain.

About Me

I'm 20 years old and am enjoying college life. I study all the time and am doing my best to pass my classes. I hope to become a High School English Literature teacher. That's something else you may like to know, I love, no really love to read. I love meeting new people and going on adventures.

Why I am a Mormon

I've had a lot of people ask my why I'm a Mormon, and why I live my life the way I do, and every time I am asked this I pause for a moment and try to come up with an answer that encompasses all the reasons why. I am a Mormon because I am a better person for it. I was raised as a Mormon, and so naturally I didn't know differently, but in high school I began to question everything. I knew that I had to find answers for myself, and not just go along with what my parents and friends all believed. I searched for answers to my questions, and gradually I realized that the answers could be found in the doctrine and gospel of the Mormon church. I found more answers in the Mormon Church than I did in the other churches in my community.

How I live my faith

I live my faith day by day. I have been asked and have agreed to be over the music for some of my weekly church meetings. I love this opportunity to put together the musical agenda, singing hymns, putting together musical numbers, and making sure that the music helps to create an environment where those attending can discuss and learn about religious topics. Living my faith isn't just a weekend activity, it is a daily commitment that I've made. Everyday I try to live my life better and try to help others be better. I try to find what God wants me to do and do it with 100%.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Holly Christine
Mormon women have a lot of the same ambitions as women of any other faith. They want to be successful in what they do, they set goals and work hard to achieve them. Being a Mormon woman I can say that I love listening to music, watch movies, hang out with friends. I love shopping and playing sports. I grew up with many friends that were not all Mormon and for the most part we enjoyed doing the same things. Mormons believe that men and women are equal, they don't place one higher than the other. What we do believe though is that there are specific roles that each has. We believe that men are to provide and protect the family and the women are to be nurturers. The leaders of the Mormon church have made a point to advise everyone to get an education. They have never discouraged men or women from getting an education either. Show more Show less
