Hi I'm Deanna

About Me

I am a 46-yr old mother of 5, the oldest is 23, and the youngest would have been 9, but she went to be with Heavenly Father 9 years ago. I am a stay-at-home mother, and I love to read, play on the computer, play games with my family, and spend time with my family. I am a die-hard Trekker (Love Star Trek), and that's how I met my husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I am LDS, because first, I was exposed to it growing up in Arizona, and while I wasn't fully active, I attended Mia Maids, and was a third counselor. I got baptized the first time in Arizona, but not for the right reasons. My mother married an LDS man, and he was VERY insistant that we get baptized, so to please him, I did. When we moved to Idaho, I married at age 21 to a non-member, I requested that my name be removed from the Records of the Church, because at that time, I wasn't appreciative of the (to me) constant visits from Visiting teachers, home teachers, and missionaries. I was baptized the second time when my husband, who had served a mission, became my missionary, answering all my questions, and setting me straight about misconceptions I had. He was baptized with me, as he was excommunicated prior to our meeting. Together we were sealed in the Temple. Since then, my daughter has recently been baptized and we are all active.

How I live my faith

I try to attend Church weekly, but my illnesses tend to get in the way. I am an active Visiting Teacher, and the ladies that I visit are very sweet spirits. I am currently the Editor of the Newsletter for the Relief Society.

What is the difference between attending a Mormon Church and a Mormon Temple?

the Temple is more formal, and not everyone can attend the Temple. You have to have a current Temple Recommend. The Church can be attended by everyone who is interested. Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

In God the Father, and his son, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Yes, a husband and wife CAN be together forever. When they are sealed to each other for time and all eternity in the Temple they are assured of spending eternity together forever. The same is true of families. Show more Show less
