Hi I'm Mark

I'm a husband and a father. I'm a business manager and a technologist. I love to run. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in small towns in Southeastern Utah in small towns of Moab and Blanding. Though both towns were less than 5,000 people, there was always a lot to do in school, sports, and working on my family's farm and ranch. After high school I served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormon Church) in Denmark. It was a great experience learning to speak Danish, getting to know a lot of Danish people and sharing my faith. Though my purpose was to help to share something that would help others to change, more than anything it helped to change me. I have a bachelor's degree in Marketing and an MBA (Masters of Business Administration). I love business and have spent my career in sales, marketing, product development and operations with most of that time working with a variety of technologies, infrastructure and services that help businesses and organizations to operate more efficiently. For the last few years much of my work has been focused on data centers and the cloud. More than anything, I love being a husband and a father. I have two sons, one that recently graduated from high school and is getting ready to serve a mission for the LDS Church and one in high school, and together with my wife, they are the focus of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I've found that the gospel of Jesus Christ answers all of the big questions in the world. I understand why I'm here, where I need to go and that I have a purpose in life. I know that I have a Heavenly Father who speaks to prophets and that loves me enough to be interested in my life. I have found that I am happy when I am doing my best to do what's right and when I am focusing on those things that matter most--my family, helping those around me, and doing my best. And I have even found that when I don't do my best, when I make mistakes, when I stumble, that my loving Father still loves me and allows me to repent. He allows do overs through the Atonement of his son and my brother, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

My faith impacts everything in my life. Though I'm not perfect, it helps me to be a better husband and father. We believe in praying as a family, reading the scriptures together and doing things together as a family. My faith helps me to be honest and hard working in my career and to believe in doing my best. I'm also very involved in serving as a volunteer at church. Most of my work over the years has been focused on working with the youth. I love them! They help to keep me young...as I keep getting older.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

We believe that our families can be together forever. Shortly after my wife and I were married, my mom died from cancer. And several years ago one of my brother's passed away from Lou Gehrig's disease. I look forward being together with them one day, and being together with my whole family. Show more Show less
