Hi I'm Hong Min

Malaysian. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently working as Special Needs School Teacher. It's a blessing to me to be able to work, learn and grow together with many beautiful souls who are so pure and loving. Serving as a morning seminary teacher, I start to realize the role of scriptures in my life. I love the scriptures and the words of the prophets. They are leading and guiding me in to live a righteous life so that I can live with Him again one day.

Why I am a Mormon

After my grandma passed away in year 2004. I started to search for answers for questions for life after death, as well as purposes of life. I was wandering and I met the missionaries. They taught me about the restoration of the gospel as well as The Plan of Salvation. As I want to know if I can see my grandma again, I read, search and ponder about the messages in Book of Mormon. I join their activities and worship. Of course I need to pray and ask if these things are true. I did and I was baptized 4 months after meeting the missionaries.

How I live my faith

I wake up at 4:00 am every weekday to get ready to teach the early morning seminary to 9 wonderful students. It was a great challenge to me at the beginning of the semester but I see the blessings of it now. I'm glad that I can have the opportunity to re-read Book of Mormon again IN-DETAIL that I'm able to teach the lessons to the youth. Many of my friends cannot understand why I have to give out so much to my religion (e.g. get on bed around 9:00pm). Prophet Joseph Smith gave the answer “a religion that does not require the sacrifice of all things never has power sufficient to produce the faith necessary unto life and salvation”. I know every members of The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints knew the end product of these small sacrifices is peace, joy in this life, and eternal happiness that awaits us in life after this.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Hong Min
We know that relationship between family member can last forver. Heavenly father is truely the father of our spirit. We belief that we will be able to return to return to him one day, if we follow and obey everything he commanded us. So do our family member here on earth. We still able to see each other after this mortal life and our relationship can extend and grow even after our resurrection. This knowledge truely help me to live my life righteously so that I can live with my family forever. Show more Show less

Why don't Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church's law of health and proper diet?

Hong Min
We know we are given this mortal body by our Heavenly Father. He wants us to practice agency to make wise choices in this life to prove ourself to return to Him. This law of Health is called "Words of Wisdom". We are given direction through revelation to do more physical exercises, sleep and arise early, reduce the amount of meat we consume compared to grains, fruits, and vegetables. We are promised by Him that we can have healthier body and clearer mind to live our daily life. Show more Show less

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

Hong Min
I lost my grandma 8 years ago. I met the missionaries when I was at Brisbane, undertaking my Bachelor Degree. I wanted to know the truthfulness of statement that the missionary made (family can be forever). I wished to see grandma again, but after my prayers and I get to know myself that what the missionaries shared are truth. It's so difficult to describe and share how is the experience of gaining a personal testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel and to get to know God and Jesus Christ really care for me and my family. "If you have a desire to follow Christ’s teachings and obey His commandments, you are first encouraged to participate in a series of discussions that will introduce you to basic principles of His gospel which will be conducted by our missionaries who live in your area. Then, when you are ready, you can become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by receiving the ordinance of baptism by immersion for the remission of sins by one having authority who after the baptism lays their hands upon your head, confirms you a member of the Church and then pronounces a blessing upon you that you may receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (see Acts 8:18-20). If you would like to receive a visit from Church representatives who can tell you more about becoming a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, find out more at http://mormon.org/missionaries/." I know you would not regret of doing so. Show more Show less
