Hi I'm Dave

I'm a Mormon with a rich Greek heritage.

About Me

I'm from a wonderful Greek heritage -- all of my grandparents were born in Greece, a son of fine parents -- my mother converted to Mormonism a couple of years before I was born. I am a husband and father, an accountant by training, employed as a Controller, a hobbyist filmmaker who has a passion to capture video of events for both family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into the Mormon faith, I wanted to know for myself the truth of the things I had been taught. The beauty of the Mormon faith is that I was encouraged by leaders to receive a personal witness of the Church's teachings -- including the reality of the Savior and His mission, that He organized a Church anciently, that His Church was reestablished on the earth through Joseph Smith, that the Book of Mormon is another witness with the Holy Bible of the divine life and mission of Christ, that since His Church was reestablished in 1830, prophets have been on the earth again as His spokesmen. I have received this confirmation, and I continually receive witness of these things through the Holy Spirit.

How I live my faith

Finding balance in life -- being a husband, father, employee, a member of a community -- is always a challenge. However, the gospel of Jesus Christ provides a perspective of what is important and eternal. My Mormon faith has given me the desire to lead a good Christian life and recognize all others as children of God.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Mormons are asked to "tithe" their incomes like in Biblical times to support the activities of the Church. With the tithing contributions, churches and temples are built and maintained, activities of the local congregations are paid for, and missionary work is funded. Because of the faithfulness of Mormons in paying tithes, all Church buildings are debt free. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is another record that was kept, besides the Holy Bible, that testifies of the divinity of Jesus Christ. Like the record kept of Christ's earthly ministry in the old world, the Book of Mormon contains record of Christ's visit to the Americas to some of His "other sheep" after his resurrection.  Show more Show less
