Hi I'm Chris

I was born in Watts, CA. First raised in South Central L.A., then in a quiet L.A. suburb. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I became a Mormon when I was a young adult and IMMEDIATELY "my world" enlarged. I became involved in teaching children's religion classes (and still love it!), gained leadership skills when I was asked to conduct meetings, organize activities, etc. My love of music increased when I was invited to participate in various choral/performing groups. More important, I started growing as a person.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young adult I was introduced to the Mormon church by my dear friend. My parents had just divorced (for the second time), and I was pretty pessimistic about marriage. The doctrine of "eternal marriage" taught by the Mormon church struck a chord with me. After two weeks of receiving lessons from my "sister" missionaries, I was baptized. But that was just the Beginning of my journey in gaining knowledge --- and a testimony --- about my Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus Christ. Through my personal study I come to know that we are spirit children of our Heavenly Father. I know that because of the atonement made our Elder Brother, Jesus Christ, we can one day return to Heavenly Father. I know that the Book of Mormon, a volume of scripture translated through the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, contains the word of God. This sacred book, combined with the Holy Bible, are my anchors during times of adversity. Please contact the Mormon missionaries and listen prayerfully to what they teach, and I promise you will find joy and peace.

How I live my faith

In my adopted faith I've had COUNTLESS opportunities to learn how to serve people of various ages: children, young adults, teenage girls and adults. Currently, I serve as a teacher of the Cutest 6 year olds! I also serve as a "visiting teacher": I have the opportunity to meet on a regular basis with selected women in our congregation. We are able to get to know each other, teach each other and serve one another. No matter where I have lived all over the United States, I Immediately found a niche, was able to develop friendships and to serve.
