Hi I'm Cory

Actor. Storyteller. Director. Digital Strategist. Husband. Mormon.

About Me

Husband. Mormon. Creative internet marketer. Actor. Director. I teach artists how to sell art online. I also do SEO, social media, and PPC consulting. On top of that, I love to dance, sing badly, and play video games. Oh, and food. I LOVE good food. It's my weakness, my one vice, but I can't help myself.

Why I am a Mormon

I had been to LDS services several times as a small child, but when I was 17 years old I started attending a seminary by my local high school. What I learned there made me very curious about the gospel and the Book of Mormon. I took the book home and, over the course of a week, read it and prayed about its truthfulness each night. That Sunday I attended church, still a little unsure. As soon as the first person stood up and started sharing their testimony, the Holy Spirit testified to me in a powerful way that what I had learned was true - the Book of Mormon, and the Bible, is holy scripture, Jesus Christ lives and loves me, and Joseph Smith was indeed a prophet. Thankfully, I've had many similar experiences since, all reaffirming the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the power that it has to shape and mold my life. I became a Mormon because of a singular experience. I continue to be Mormon because I continue to experience guidance from my Father in Heaven and this is where he guides me.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as an Elder's Quorum President in the Pacific Northwest. That means that I lead a men's group in my local congregation. I help organize service projects, minister to those who are sick and otherwise afflicted, organize Sunday lessons, and take care of some other administrative duties. This is a volunteer position where I work in concert with other men to help other men come to Christ and find opportunities for service. On top of my regular callings, I strive to be a good person in my day-to-day life and be the best husband I can be. It's really important to me that at the end of this life: - the Savior says, "Well done thou good and faithful servant." - my wife looks back says, "He was a good husband."

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

By spending time each day in prayer and scripture study. Don't just mindlessly read the scriptures. Think about how they might apply to your life. Don't just mindlessly repeat rote prayers. Talk to the Savior as though he was your Father, and pour out your heart to Him. He will answer and give you guidance. Show more Show less
