Hi I'm Susan

About Me

My favorite thing to do would have to be spending time with my husband and children. But in addition to that, I work part-time, I like to sew and garden. I love being outside.

Why I am a Mormon

I was always taught about God. I have had a belief in God the Father and Jesus Christ for as long as I can remember. When I was about 19, I realized that something was missing. I had a few friends, married and single, who were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I knew someday I wanted to be married and have chidren and raise them to be happy and with a faith in Jesus Christ. These friends had something special about them and I wanted it in my life. I learned about the LDS church from the missionaries, I prayed about what they taught me and I will never forget the feeling I had when I knew that their teachings were true. It's been a long time now and I look back on what my life could have been and where it is now. I am married and have a family with happy children who have faith in Jesus Christ. It's not always easy, but we have always been blessed. I am so grateful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life.

How I live my faith

Volunteering and sharing my talents is something that I have been able to do through my children and their participation at school. There always seems to be something I can do to help at their schools. For years I was able to teach in the children's Sunday school where we attend church and that would have to be my favorite job. The children are so sweet. Currently, at church, I organize help for those that may have had a new baby or have recently been ill.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

We believe in the bible because it is the word of God and it testifies of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Heavenly Father loves all of His children and wants to bless all of them. We believe that life goes beyond this earthly life. Many people have died before they were able to be baptized or learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ. We baptize for the dead so that they too can have the opportunity to enjoy the blessings from our Father in Heaven. Show more Show less

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

I would have to say that our lifestyle is pretty much the same as many others. We work, spend time with family and friends, attend church on Sunday, our children go to local schools. We have all the daily routines, just like everyone else. If you or your chidren are invited to a party or get together by Mormon friends, you will notice that we are able to have a great time without drinking alcohol or smoking. Chances are, the kids will be playing video games, dancing or just having a great time hanging out together.   Show more Show less
