Hi I'm Sarah

I'm a wife and a mother. I couldn't ask for more. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in a big, busy city and love every minute of it. I am a singer. I am a teacher. I am mother. I am a wife. My husband and I have 4 children who teach me more and more everyday. I come from a large family of 7 children and am the favorite aunt to 19 beautiful nieces and nephews. My life is simple. My life is blessed.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always known the Church was true. I have never doubted or questioned it. I was very fortunate to be raised as a member of the Church and feel very blessed to be teaching my own children about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I was "born into it." That's why I am a Mormon. Though I have never struggled with my testimony, it hasn't always been easy. But, it is comforting to know that my Savior knows my pains. He knows my heart. I can rely on Him when things are hard and when I'm hurting. I know my life would be so empty without the knowledge of this Gospel. I love my Savior. That's why I am a Mormon. I think the hardest thing I have had to deal with in my life has been my father's death. He passed when I was 20 and I miss him. I am grateful to know that families can be together forever. I know that if I keep the commandments and follow Christ's teachings I can have an eternal family. I know the plan of salvation is real and it will secure the blessing of being able to be with my dad, my family, my children and my husband FOREVER. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try my hardest to live my life so I can be in tune with the Holy Ghost because I know that is how my Heavenly Father can communicate with me. That means keeping the commandments, praying, listening to the prophet and doing all that is asked of me. It's easy to type that out and much harder to do it. I am trying. I have been blessed with musical talents. I have been sinigng since I was very young and have a degree in Music Education. I have felt the Spirit countless times in my life through music and I know that Heavenly Father has blessed me with musical talents so I can feel the Spirit. It has been the main avenue for testimony growth throughout my life. I participate in the Church mostly through music and feel so blessed to be able to help others feel the Spirit through music.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

The first day of kindergarten for my son was his first day of any sort of school. We had worked at home to prepare him for kindergarten. He knew his numbers and letters and was starting to read. But, he was never a child that loved to color. So, the first few days and weeks of kindergarten were hard for him. It took us a long time to do his homework at the beginning because 90% of his homework consisted of coloring. During the first few weeks of school, I found myself helping him with every aspect of his work. As the weeks went by he got better at coloring and his letter writing. I didn’t have to help 100% anymore. I could sit back and assist from a distance. Soon, I was able to go over it with him, walk away and let him work. By the end of the year, I would just give him little reminders and hints and he'd say things like, “I know,” or "I got it mom." He'd do pages of homework all alone. Sometimes he would start a part of his homework and he'd pick up the wrong color or match a picture with the wrong letter. I whispered little tips to him like, “check your color,” or “is that an 'n'?” or, “make sure you start at the ceiling for that letter.” He’d catch his mistake and fix it. I like to think that's how the Holy Ghost works. He can be near us and whisper suggestions. He can help us in real-time, providing specific and experienced wisdom. We, like my son, can improve. If we are sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Ghost, we can have His help in all aspects of our lives. Show more Show less
