Hi I'm Adam

About Me

I am a husband and a father of 4. Once upon a time I played the guitar. Currently, I enjoy cooking and eating what I cook. I enjoy my kids - when they aren't fighting, wanting, or complaining. My wife and I complement each other. I like small crowds over large groups, and I usually let other's speak and act first.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I fasted and prayed for two days at a time for direction in my life. I was 22 years old when I joined the church, and a few months prior to that I was atheist. In a personal way, I felt that I had reached an end in life and that I needed to change. Someone gave me a Book of Mormon and after reading a few pages I remarked that I didn't know how anyone could doubt it was true. I had picked up a Bible during this time, prior to receiving the copy of the Book of Mormon, and was reading it regularly. The person who gave me the Book of Mormon scheduled an appointment with the missionaries and after receiving the 6 Discussions as they were called at that time I accepted an invitation to be baptized. I believe that God can communicate with his children and help them to know what is true. He has blessed me with the knowledge that these things are turn, and I now have the clarity and peace that I was seeking earlier in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day at home and at work. I try to be an example to my kids and to teach them how to be happy and to understand the world around them and in which they live. I have held many positions in church and look forward to additional callings. I am not perfect, but I'm reasonably stable, and every day I have a new starting point.

What are some things that tell to you there is a God?

In the Book of Mormon, one of the writers - a Prophet, said that "all things denote there is a god". People who do not believe there is a god do so because they are looking at the negative of the picture and not the picture itself. Bad people do bad things it is true. But as a whole, people are good. Tornados, earthquakes, and hurricanes happen, it is a fact. But on the scale of chaos, the earth is relatively calm. Comparing the astrophysical features of the earth with those of the other planets should be enough to convince anyone that there is a design and purpose for this planet, and the evidences don't stop there.
