Hi I'm Dan

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm cost analyst for a medical device company, and I love working in the health care industry. But more importantly, I am a husband to a beautiful wife and father to two energetic boys (both under two years old). To renergize and keep a balanced life, I love playing sports, getting outside for hikes or nature walks, romping with our two boys, reading books aloud with my wife (she keeps me cultured), and playing the guitar.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because the gospel of Jesus Christ has brought me more peace and happiness than anything else in this world, and it makes me want to be a better husband, father, and person. I have prayed and asked God about the Church, and He has answered my prayers on many occasions and in many ways, telling me that it is true. One of the main reasons why I am a Mormon is that we believe our families can be together forever, if we keep God's commandments. This is one of the greatest blessings and sources of hope and joy in my life, knowing that I can be with my wife and our children even after this life.

How I live my faith

In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we serve voluntarily in different positions. For example, I teach a Sunday school class and work with cub scouts from our church. But we're all learning together, and we try to learn from and follow the example of the master teacher, Jesus Christ. On a day-to-day basis, my faith permeates almost everything I do. I start and end each day kneeling at my bedside as I pray to our Heavenly Father. Then, throughout the day, I try to be a Christ-like person in everything I think, say, and do. This means doing my best to be honest, moral, kind, non-judgemental, and a good friend.

What do Mormons believe about family?

We believe that if we are obedient to God's commandments, we can be with our families and loved ones forever. We also believe that the family is important to God's plan for His children and their happiness. My family is one of the biggest blessings in my life. I love knowing that I can be with my sweet wife forever. Knowing this makes me want to be a better husband and treat my family with love and kindness. Show more Show less

Where did Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints begin?

When Christ lived on the earth, He called apostles and established His church. Unfortunately, most of the people of the time rejected Him and his teachings. Christ and His apostles were killed, and many of the core doctrines of His gospel were lost or forgotten. We believe that the Lord has called a prophet and apostles once again, reestablished His church on the earth, and restored those doctrines that were lost. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

I chose to serve as a missionary because I wanted to share with others the same joy I had received from the Church of Jesus Christ. When we proselyte, we are following the Savior's commandment: "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15). We also share our beliefs with others because so many people have heart-felt questions about life that Christ's teachings can answer. Show more Show less

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The Lord has given us a law of health called the Word of Wisdom to keep our minds and bodies healthy. We do not smoke or use illegal drugs, nor do we drink alcohol, coffee, or tea. I love to play sports, and I have personally seen the blessings in my life from following these principles. For example, I know that I have had more energy and focus than I would have had otherwise, and I have also been able to recover from serious injuries. Show more Show less
