Hi I'm Tara

I'm a wife, mother, businesswoman, and I am Mormon.

About Me

What do being a mom, wife, business woman and friend all have in common? They are all roles that I take on and enjoy being a part of every day.

Why I am a Mormon

Being raised in an active Mormon family, it would be easy to say that of course I am a Mormon. That part of my upbringing has certainly helped shape my life. But I have tested the principles and promises to know the truth of Christ's gospel and not just relied solely on the things that others have taught me. Through these experiences I have come to know that being Mormon--a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints--is bringing me to Christ. And by following the teachings of this church, I have gained so much comfort and happiness.

How I live my faith

I try to enjoy a spiritual thought every day that helps me keep things in focus. One way I frequently do this is enjoy the various programs available on the Mormon Channel phone app. While driving to work I choose something to listen to. The faith-inspiring messages provide such a calming way to start my day. And they often give me guidance as I prepare for my monthly teaching assignment in our women's Sunday meeting, known as Relief Society. Though my husband and children are not Mormon, we share common Christian values and practices, such as prayer, that are part of our family routine.

Are Mormons Christians?

Mormons believe that Christ came to earth and was crucified to atone for our sins. So I think that yes, that puts us in the category of Christian believers. One of my favorite scriptures comes from the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is a book of scripture that we believe in along with the Bible. It bears the subtitle "Another Testament of Jesus Christ", further emphasizing where our faith lies. 2 Nephi 25 26 "And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins."
