Hi I'm Dan

I was born and raised in Utah. I am a software engineer. I love a good book, being outdoors and being with family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Bountiful, Utah. I come from a family of 8. I am the second oldest out of 6 kids. I have a twin brother who is seven minutes younger than me. After I graduated from high school in 1999, I went to school for a semester at Ricks College, now BYU-I. I then served and LDS mission to La Paz, Bolivia from 2000 to 2002. I served the cities of La Paz, El Alto, Oruro, and Cobija. After I returned home I started school at Weber State. Also in 2002 I met my beautiful wife Tana. We have been married for eight years and we have three children. Hannah is six and just started first grade. Lillian is 3 and is attending preschool. Benjamin, the boy, is 7 month old and just learned how to crawl. In December of 2010 I finally graduated with Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and a Minor in Spanish from Weber State. I am currently working as software enginner. We build practice management software for doctors offices.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormom because I feel that it is true. I grew up in the church. Both my parents are members and I looked up to them as I slowly learned about the church. When I turned eight I made the decission to get baptized. I was lucky because I was baptized at the same time as my brother. I will never forget the feeling of seeing him baptized by my father. As I grew older I began to question if this was all worth it. I need to know if it was true. One night prayed at my bedside and asked that simple question. I received my answer. I felt an amazing calmness and peace come over me. My mind has always thought back to that night. Who knew that such a simple experiance would be the driving force through so many decisions as well as a help to me in difficult times. Ever since then I have never questioned it. I knew where it came from. It hasn't always been easy but knowing that I am not alone and that I have a Heavenly Father who is always watching over me and giving me direction makes it all worth it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith one day at a time. Each day there are new things to learn and new challenges, trials and weaknesses to overcome. I try to be actively involved with people that I associate with. I try to get to know them and help them as needed. I try to be friendly and outgoing to all my neighbors. I look for opportunites to help other in need. I participate on a weekly basis in my church meetings and assignments. I try to care for and love my family. I have an amazing wife and three awesome children that mean more to me than anything else. I try to help other be better followers of the Gospel. I try to set a good example. I try to keep the commandments.
