Hi I'm Adam

About Me

I am 30 years old, and my wife and I have three beautiful little girls. Things that make me happy in life are fishing, hunting, and basically anything in the outdoors. I love every minute of family time that I get. One of my favorite noises in the world is to hear my little girls squeal with joy when I come home from work. One of my least favorite noises in the world is when my sweet, angelic little darlings defiantly belt out, "No!!" Ahhh, with the joys also come the trials, but oh how the joys outweigh the trials!!

Why I am a Mormon

I have read the Book of Mormon, thought about its teachings, and prayed to God to ask Him if the Book of Mormon has come from Him. Though my answer never came all at once, I have come to feel and know that the Book of Mormon does come from Him. I know that the Lord has verified to me through His spirit that the Book of Mormon is true. I have never heard an audible voice, nor have I seen an angelic being; however, I am learning that God speaks to me through different thoughts, impressions, and feelings that I have. As I try to seek the things of God, these thoughts, impressions, and feelings from Him are stronger and more clear. I know that these things come from God. This witness and this knowledge that the Book of Mormon is true is the first domino in a myriad of other truths. Because the Book of Mormon is true, Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Also, because of the reality of the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith was called to be a prophet and to restore Christ's church to the earth. And because of these truths, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church of Christ.

How I live my faith

In the area in which I live, I currently work with the scouting program. I work with the youth ages 12-13 and help them to progress in their scouting as well as progress in their relationships with God. I love working with these young men and it is so neat to see them grow and develop. I truly enjoy my association with them. However, I must confess, I don't always do everything that I know I should do. One of the hardest challenges I have faced in my life is the balance of time. There are many areas of life that combat for our time. Examples include: (1) time with the Lord, (2) time with our families, (3) work, (4) church callings, (5) educational goals, (6) community responsibilities, etc. However, allocating the right amount of time to each area seems to be a constant juggling act for me. I am finding that when I make sure to put the Lord first, everything else just seems to fall into place; when I don't put Him first, I struggle even getting the simplest of tasks done.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We do not worship Joseph Smith. We love him and honor him as we do the other prophets that have lived throughout time. Joseph Smith himself taught that we worship only God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. Do we love Joseph Smith? With a love beyond description! Do we worship him? No, we only worship God the Father, and His son Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
