Hi I'm Charles

I'm a computer technician, have 3 kids, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 29 year old father who has been married for 7 years to a lovely wife. We have 3 wonderful kids. I work 1.5 hours away from home as a computer technician. I am very active in church, currently serving as a ward mission leader. I am going to school full time and I have been a member my entire life and love the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, because I love the Gospel. The Gospel has blessed my family and I in many different ways and it allows me to continue my spiritual growth. The Gospel follows along with teachings that are taught to kids as we are growing up and it just makes sense to stick with what is right.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a ward mission leader in our ward. I am able to work with the missionaries in our ward to help them find people who are ready to hear about the Gospel. I have worked with the youth in the past, and continue to help out whenever possible. I help organize events and love to invite people to come to church.

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

Charles
Mormons do not practice polygamy. The thought of this idea kind of makes me laugh. I wonder how a man would want to be with more than one woman and how a woman would want to share her man. Husband and wives should be true to each other. Polygamy is not practiced within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Charles
If Mormons only helped other Mormons, then the world would be a sad place. As members of the church, everyone are brothers and sisters. It is our responsibility to love and care for our brothers and sisters and therefore help people who are or are not members of the church. As we serve each other, we are blessed by gaining new friends and having a feeling of peace to know that we have helped another one of God's children. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Charles
As a child growing up within the church I learned an article of faith. The article reads, "We believe the bible to be the word of God, as far as it is translated correctly. We also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God." The bible is used as scriptures for many different things within the church. We use the Bible when we give talks, teach lessons, or even when we study scriptures independently at home. For someone to tell me that we do not believe the Bible to be a holy scripture, I would have to disagree. We do believe the Bible to be Holy Scriptures. The Bible was written by prophets which in turn means that the words in the Bible came from God and are therefore Scripture. Show more Show less
