Hi I'm Howard

I'm a Mormon. I'm very greatful to have the blessings of the Restored Gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

About Me

At present, I'm a father of four boys ages 25,11, 10, and 8. My dear wife, is a fantastic woman with many talents. She is indeed one special person, and my meeting her is a miraculous story in itself. We live in the SouthWest of England. With clean air and water, with locally grown veggies and meat available to us -- a truely rewarding life. Living in a small town, with a very nice primary school, and being able to work a small allotment family garden. I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and raised in the Los Angeles area. After graduating from high school, I pursued a bunsiness degree from El Camino Community College, and a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California. I've enjoyed being a member of the Church all my life. I've made life long friendships in each of the local wards congregations I've lived in. Members of the Church have that same spirit within them, no matter what part of the world we find them. Currently, I'm serving as the Sunday School president and institute teacher in our ward. This year we are studying the Book of Mormon. I go over most every verse and really try to get to the most of each verse. This allows us to find those bits of knowlege those prophets have labored diligently to provide for us. For the past several years, I've made it a goal to bring my diet to a higher level. Eating more fresh foods, less meats and taking vitamins, etc.. I always try walking most eveywhere locally.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I was "born" in the Church, (that is my parents were already members and I went to Church from day one) I am really quite thankful to be where I am at this time. That is to say, I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored. What's more, knowing that the fulness of the Gospel has been restored -- has allowed much of the plain and precious truths, which were taken out, to be once again made available for our benefit. The Atonement (reconcilliation) is made so much more complete in the Book of Mormon. Knowing how the Fall came about, the reason for opposition in this life, and the importance for us to repent -- How Christ had been chosen from before the creation of the Earth to be our Savior & Redeemer. Knowing how important it is for us to obey the commandments, which lead us in the right direction. When we do make mistakes, we can repent of our sins -- thus becoming repentent, we become that much more worthy to inherit eternal life - One Day.

How I live my faith

Currently I'm the Sunday School President and institute teacher in our ward congregation. This position allows me to help share the important bits of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with other members in our local ward. My duties include Making sure all of the classes ages 12 through adults have teachers that week. It means either me or one of my counselors to cover the lesson, if a teach can't make it that week. On occassion, I can call someone to fill the postion of a teacher in one of our five sunday school classes. Supplies for the classes, the attendance rolls, and providing the teachers with helpful suggestions for better lessons. People, as they are, often will stand in the hallways and talk -- when sunday school has started, so we nicely have to help them on their way. Every wednesday, I teach a Book of Mormon class. I hold a morning and evening class, thus allowing folks more opportunity to attend a class. I truely strive to get the most out of each chapter, and so we read most every verse and tease out those morsels that give us greater insights. At home, though, I live my faith on a daily basis. Raising my family of three boys with a loving and caring wife, provides me a ongoing opportunity to live the Gospel principles of long suffering, patience, kindness, etc.... This is truely living my Faith. As we read the scriptures, and pray as a family, I'm doing my part as the father in raising a family -- with hopes that they will likewise strive to live their faith on a daily basis. We have a family morning prayer and as short scripture study before they rush off to school. My wife, Helen, and I also strive to work with them in the evening before bed, to say their prayers. We are realizing, ever more, that we have a great responsibility to our children -- to teach them correct principles. Realizing that our bodies are given to us by God, and that we have an obligation to maintain a high level of health is very important.
