Hi I'm Lindsay!

I am a teacher, an outdoor enthusiast, a pianist, a friend, and a disciple of Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I started teaching kindergarten this year and absolutely love my job! It's a lot of work, but is so rewarding. Not only do I feel that I can make a difference in the world, but these wonderful people are making a difference in my life. I love to play the piano, spend time with people, and enjoy being outside in every season, biking, skiing, snowboarding, swimming, or even just taking a walk to enjoy the fresh air. I speak Cantonese fluently and have a special place in my heart for Asia, after having served a mission in Hong Kong and Macau.

Why I am a Mormon

I love, love, LOVE the gospel of Jesus Christ and have a firm conviction that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the kingdom of God on the earth. Every aspect of my life is enhanced by my membership in this church. My family relationships are deep and meaningful because I know that we can be together as a family forever. The trials and hardships I face are made easier through my faith and hope in Jesus Christ. My life has meaning, purpose and direction because of my knowledge and understanding of God's eternal plan of happiness for me, and for all of His children. I am a Mormon because it is the only way I have found that brings true and lasting happiness.

How I live my faith

My faith is an intricate part of my everyday life. Wherever I am, I try to remember that I am first of all a disciple of Jesus Christ. That guides my thoughts, words, and actions, and brings me so much joy. I like the phrase, "stand in holy places," and to me, that means that wherever I go, if I am living the way I know I should, then that place is a holy place.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Joseph Smith said, "We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly." Over time, there have been translation errors in the Bible, but through revelation from God to the prophet Joseph Smith, most, if not all, of those errors have been cleared up. I am with Joseph Smith on this one; I love the Bible! I love learning from it and seeing the connections from traditions in the past to things that we do today. I love reading about Jesus' life and the people He blessed and taught. I love the inspiration I feel when I read it. The Bible is wonderful!! Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Well, for one thing, the world gets a whole lot smaller when you're a member of the Church. For instance, some friends of mine were visiting New Zealand and happened to run into a very good friend of mine at church. The one thing that binds us together instantly as friends is our membership in the Church, which is rooted in our belief in Christ. It is awesome! I love how people of totally different backgrounds from anywhere in the world can come together and become so close just over the commonality of membership in the Church. I believe it is the one thing that has the power to unite the world. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes!! Yes, yes, YES! :) I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. I believe in Christ. I am a Christian! I love Jesus Christ with all my heart. I know that He lives, that He came to earth and lived a sinless life, atoned for the sins of the world, and was resurrected. He is my Savior, my Redeemer, and the Light of the World.
