Hi I'm Barney

I'm a tech marketing entrepreneur and a professional cellist. I have three beautiful girls with my wonderful wife. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married with three little girls. I started a career in marketing and entrepreneurship, and I love being creative with business ideas and strategies. I like challenging generally accepted assumptions in the pursuit of hidden gems that change perspective. I love music, and I have played the cello since I was two years old. I really like sports, and I love riding motorbikes. I'm a big fan of technology, and I hope to either invent or apply some new technology that will change the world for the better. I love Thai food and cheesecake. I also like learning other languages (I speak Thai from my two year mission in Thailand), and I hope to learn Mandarin Chinese next.

Why I am a Mormon

I had my cousin/best friend pass away from a tragic accident when he and I were just 17 years old. When I found out that he had passed away, I was prompted by the Holy Ghost to ask Heavenly Father if the Plan of Salvation is true or not. I needed to know if I would see my cousin again. I went upstairs to my bedroom to pray. When I asked Heavenly Father, I had an overwhelming feeling given to me from the Holy Ghost confirming the truth to me. Ever since that day, I've had an ever-strengthening knowledge of the truthfulness of the gospel, and I've added to my testimony many times through the same process of praying and receiving answers from the Spirit of God. The topics I've received particular answers about include: the redemptive power of Jesus Christ's atonement, Joseph Smith being a true prophet, the Book of Mormon being the word of God, the Priesthood authority being delegated to worthy men, and the cleansing effects of sincere repentance in conjunction with baptism and partaking of the Sacrament worthily. I know these truths through the power of the Holy Ghost, and I love the happiness I can have now and after this life as I live the gospel taught in Christ's church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following God's will for me, raising righteous children, and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. I try to build relationships of trust with those around me so when the opportunity presents itself, they can open their hearts to both my testimony and the Holy Ghost's confirmations of truth. I communicate with Heavenly Father through prayer, and He answers my prayers through the Holy Ghost and with His peace. I try my best to preside over, provide for, and protect my family. I show them that I love them in any way I can. I live an honest and chaste life, and I do my best to live morally straight. I do my best to be a parent to my kids like Heavenly Father is to me. Finally, I live my faith by accepting duties to serve in the church, which means serving the people around me. I have found that the more I serve someone, the more I come to love them, and the more they can trust in the truths that I share with them.
