Hi I'm Ron

I grew up in Redondo Beach, CA. I joined the church when I was 15 after meeting a couple of girls from Brigham City, UT.

About Me

I'm married and have a couple of daughters. I currently work for a large company in Oregon doing internal communications. After graduating from college with a degree in political science, I worked for a couple of U.S. Senators on Capitol Hill, the U.S. Constitution Bicentennial Commission, and a national trade association. After moving to Oregon, I worked on a couple of campaigns and built websites for candidates.

Why I am a Mormon

In the summer of 1978, between my freshman and sophomore years in high school, I went to a debate camp at UCLA. While there, I met a couple of girls from Brigham City, UT, who gave me the Book of Mormon. When they shared their testimonies with me, I felt good (but, at that time, I didn't know that that feeling was the Holy Ghost testifying to me of the truthfulness of the things they were sharing with me). Shortly thereafter, I took the missionary discussions. After reading parts of the Book of Mormon, asking the missionaries lots of questions, fasting, and praying, I received a witness from the Holy Ghost of the truthfulness of the gospel. I know that Jesus is the Christ, that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, that he translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true and living church. I'm grateful for modern-day apostles and prophets.

How I live my faith

I enjoy going to church and the temple to worship God and fellowship with the Saints.
