Hi I'm Sara Elizabeth

I was born and raised in Nevada. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of four kids all under the age of 10. I took a break from teaching high school social studies to raise my kids. I spend my days volunteering at their school, spending time with friends and working on my calling as Relief Society president.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family. Much of my family tree is made up of early members of the church. I loved going to all of the activities and classes that are offered to children and youth. As a teenager, I went through some difficult family times. It caused me to question everything in my life, including the church. For several years, I even stopped attending church all together. Once I had a child, I started to consider my feelings about church more deeply and realized that I knew the gospel to be true. I knew that the lifestyle and the programs offered in the church were things that I wanted my kids to be involved in. I missed the community and the sense of belonging that church attendance provided. As I began to attend church again, I rediscovered my testimony and love of Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon. It has brought so much happiness and meaning to my life.

How I live my faith

I love spending time at church on Sunday and at different church functions throughout the week. Singing church songs and reading stories from the scriptures with my kids brings a special feeling into our home. I also spend a lot of time helping the other ladies from church. In my calling, I am responsible for organizing social, educational and spiritual meetings for the adult women at church. It is so wonderful to have a community that shares my values and offers service and support to each other.

What is the Relief Society?

Sara Elizabeth
I am excited to answer this question because I am so involved in this group right now. The Relief Society is the church's organization for women. All female members of the church are welcome into the organization once they turn eighteen. The purpose of the group is to strengthen the women and their families in all aspects of their life. The Relief Society meets weekly on Sundays to discuss gospel topics and how they relate to our lives. There are also, occasionally, meetings at other times of the week. These can be social, educational or spiritual. Members of the Relief Society are encouraged to help one another. In my calling as Relief Society president, I organize members to take meals to those who are sick or need extra assistance. We help when someone has a new baby to bring them meals or help with other children. We also organize humanitarian efforts to help those in need in the larger community. I especially love Relief Society because no matter where I have moved, I have known that on my first Sunday I would be able to attend a Relief Society meeting and get to know ladies in my area who share my values and will befriend and support me and my family.
