Hi I'm Anne

About Me

I grew up in central California. I loved going outside and picking ripe fruits from trees and vegetables from our garden. My family was important to me. I'm been involved in family history for a long time. I like to talk to people about family and creating memories.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized at the age of 8 years old. I was young, but my parents were members and I believed that they knew that the Church was the right religion. My father was raised in the Lutheran faith. After he was taught by missionaries, he decided to convert. He was never sorry. As I grew and studied and prayed, I found out for myself that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only religion that has a living prophet who talks with God. President Thomas S. Monson teaches me about living the commandments and being kind to others. I have faith that by keeping the commandments and covenants that I've made, I can be with my family forever.

How I live my faith

I believe that Heavenly Father cares about me. It takes a lot of faith to believe in someone you have never seen. But the Holy Ghost has sent me the spiritual confirmation that Heavenly Father is a real person, that he listens and answers prayers. Sometimes the answer is Yes, sometimes No and sometimes Not Yet. Faith is a big part of my life.

What is faith?

For me, faith is an action word. In chapter 11 of Hebrews in the New Testament, several verses tell about what happened when people had faith. Verse 1 tells us that faith is the substance of things hoped for but not seen. I have faith every day that the sun will rise, even though it is cloudy and I can't see the sun. The Book of Mormon prophet Mormon talked about faith and hope as being intertwined - that if you have faith you must also have hope. (See Moroni chapter 7 verses 40-42.) Hope to better understand how to live my life, and faith to act on the impressions that I receive. Show more Show less
