Hi I'm H. Turner

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

About Me

I am the mother of three girls...well, actually women as they are now 17, 23, and 28, I am also the grandmother of two adorable girls...we have an abundance of womanhood in our family : ). I love to cook and spend time with my family. I also love to travel and see beautiful new places.

Why I am a Mormon

The simple answer to this would be that I was born into the church, my parents, grandparents and most of my ancestors back to the very beginnings of the church have been members. The real answer is that I have prayed and sought answers for myself regarding the things I read in the scriptures. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that He has a wonderful plan for me and all of His children to come back and live with Him and my Heavenly Father again. I have received confirmation by the power of the Holy Ghost that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Jesus Christ's church and that personal witness is undeniable...that's why I am a member of the church.

How I live my faith

I am a Seminary teacher and I love it! That means I spend one hour every school day from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m with a room full of high school students studying the gospel. I also serve my ward as the Young Women's camp specialist which gives me a little time in the summer with teenagers as well. I have found such joy as I serve the Lord, I have to come to feel His guiding influence in my life and I see His love for these special young people. I have had many callings over the years and each one has been such a great experience and a chance for me to learn and grow.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

H. Turner
Heavenly Father loves all of His chldren and wants everyone to know and understand the plan He has estalished for us to come back and live with him again. Missionaries visit homes of people all over the world to share with them the good news of the Savior and His gospel and how He can help them to live a happy life here and in the eternities. Why don't Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church's law of health and proper diet?

H. Turner
We don't drink coffee, tee, or alcohol because they are substances that can cause harm to our body. Heavenly Father wants us to live a long and happy life and in order to do that we need to take proper care of the body we have been given. The law of health and proper diet is commonly known within the church as the Word of Wisdom, a guideline for taking proper care of our physical body through healthy eating, exercise and receiving adequaten amounts of sleep. If we follow this counsel we are promised the blessing of increased health. Though it doesn't mean we will never get sick we know that if we eat right and take care of our body, avoiding unhealthy substances and habits we will have an increased ability to regain and retain our health and vigor.
