Hi I'm Kevin

About Me

I've got a fabulous wife and four wonderful kids. I enjoy running, reading, technology, and spending time with my family. It's a hectic life, but if I have a positive attitude, it makes for a great day.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I've found that by living the principles and commandments of the gospel of Jesus Christ, I'm truly happy--a happiness that can last forever. I'm a Mormon because I believe my Church has a living prophet and apostles who counsel us according to the will of our Lord. Mostly, I'm a Mormon because I find inner peace and joy through my religion, and I want others to find that same feeling.

How I live my faith

I love the feeling that comes from helping other people. I work with lots of people in my church--planning activities, scheduling meetings, giving sermons, and counseling people who are struggling. When I lose myself in the service of others, I find that I'm blessed a ton. The more I give, the more I tend to receive. I try to live each moment and treat other people how my Savior would.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

We believe that "it is by grace we are saved, AFTER all we can do." In other words, we believe in grace. By the grace of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we can overcome physical and spiritual death and return to Heaven. However, we have to do all we can to follow the commandments before the Savior's grace can help us get the rest of the way. I like what is said in the New Testament--faith without works is dead. Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

It is expected that all young men between 19 and 26 serve missions. Young women 21 and older can serve missions if they want to. Of course, not all young men serve missions, for a variety of reasons. I served my mission in France, and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I learned a lot about the world around me, about how to communicate and serve others, and about myself. But, most importantly, I was able to share my beliefs with others, and help them find the same lasting happiness that I've found. Show more Show less
