Amy B.: Mormon.

Hi I'm Amy B.

About Me

I am a 27 year old mother of 5 kids ages 9 years old to 6 months old. Yes, I know that is a lot of kids. I love being a wife and mother and feel that there is nothing more important I could be doing than raising my children to be honest, faithful and loving to everyone around them.

Why I am a Mormon

It's quite simple really... I know this is the fullness of The Lord's gospel here upon the earth. The Lord lives and He is active in our lives. He has given us the ability to learn as much as we have the desire to learn about Him, what we are here for and where we are going. I love that this is a church of revelation, not just through a living prophet, but through personal revelation. I love that The Lord has blessed us with the ability to be sealed together as a family not just for time here on earth, but for eternity. Families truly can be together forever and Marriage does not have to be "until death do you part". I have had a confirmation in my heart and soul on many occasions that this is The Lord's church, I have no doubt. I know in my heart that The Book of Mormon is true and correct and is a second witness of Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because I couldn't imagine living another day in the dark. The gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the light of truth and righteousness. It is my guide, my compass, my anchor and my foundation. In a world of so much confusion... I know who I am, a Daughter of God.

Personal Stories

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

Prayer has been an invaluable part of my life. I use prayer to express all my deepest feelings, concerns, struggles and joys. I can attest that all our prayers are answered, even in ways we do not expect. The Lord hears us and cares for us more than we can comprehend. I love that prayer can be an intimate conversation with my Father in Heaven who loves me and wants to help me grow and progress towards my goals.

How can we develop greater harmony in our homes?

We have found that turning the televisions, computers and other sorts of technology off and spending time together as a family to be a great help in developing more harmony and unity in our home. When we read scriptures together or just sit and talk about our feelings we grow closer together and develop bonds that help us overcome life's obstacles and struggles. Family Home Evening is a great addition to our lives. We dedicate an evening each week to learning, studying and praying together and of course have fun at the same time. The kids always look forward to it and we love that they enjoy bonding with each other.

How I live my faith

I do my best to teach my children to love our Savior Jesus Christ and to keep His commandments and walk in His ways. I work with the youth through the cub scout program and participate in church functions when ever possible. However my faith goes much farther than just attending church on Sundays and participating during the week, it is something that I live and love every day. I love that I am able to develop a personal closeness with my Savior and Redeemer and to have the joy that comes along with that. I take the time to diligently study the scriptures, both The Book of Mormon and the Bible on a regular basis and study many good books. I love to learn and discover new things.
