Hi I'm Ron Tibbitts

Our greatest joy is when “ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. ” Matthew 25:45

About Me

I was raised in Ogden Utah when I was 12 years old my father bought a ranch in Montana where we spent the summers. I loved riding horses and we had over 30 of them. I was not very active in the Church until August 21, 1965 when my cousin Alan Clapperton asked me to baptize him. After that I felt a great desire to serve a mission which I did January 10, 1966 until January 1968. I was home from my mission for about six months when I was drafted into the Army and I served for more than a year in Vietnam. During this time my brother was called to serve a mission in Florida where my wife to be was serving a mission. He sent me her home address because she returning home we wrote to each other and six months after I returned home we were married in the Saint George Temple. We have three daughters one served a mission and two sons who both served missions. We have two daughters in laws one served a mission and our three son in laws also served missions. We have 20 grandchildren some have served missions and others are planning to serve. My wife and I served a senior mission in in Bay Roberts, Newfoundland, Canada and I served a FamilySearch Support Mission from home.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that God is the same today as he was when he spoke to Moses. I know that Christ lives and because He we live and will live. I know this because of the many prophets like Moses. Christ said, "If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham." John 8:39 Abraham said, "finding there was greater happiness and peace and rest for me, I sought for the blessings of the fathers, and the right whereunto I should be ordained to administer the same; having been myself a follower of righteousness, desiring also to be one who possessed great knowledge, and to be a greater follower of righteousness, and to possess a greater knowledge, and to be a father of many nations, a prince of peace, and desiring to receive instructions, and to keep the commandments of God, I became a rightful heir, a High Priest, holding the right belonging to the fathers." Abraham 1:2 I know that we are saved by Grace as Paul said in the Bible and that we will be judged according to our works. As we read in Revelation 20:12. "For we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do." Book of Mormon 2 Nephi 25:23

How I live my faith

My Family booklet was produced based on information, photos, and stories provided by: Ron Tibbitts The website for producing this booklet is provided (free) as a service by FamilySearch, an organization sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Our hope is that through this booklet, you will feel of the strength and power that comes through family connections. To create your own booklet, go to FamilySearch.org/MyFamily and choose the option where you can add your own information and copy information already available on the FamilySearch website. Once you’ve done this, you can generate your own booklet to share with others. "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." Matthew 7:21.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Ron Tibbitts
"Jesus answered them, and said, My adoctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." John 7:16-17 " Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." Matthew 21:21-22 Show more Show less

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Ron Tibbitts
NOW we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3; “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.” Acts 3:19-22 Show more Show less

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Ron Tibbitts
We can "Ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, He will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." Book of Mormon | Moroni 10:4-5 Show more Show less

Who are the Mormons?

Ron Tibbitts
We are individuals who believe that Jesus is the Christ. We believe that “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable… For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 1 Corinthians 15:19 & 22 "handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet." Luke 24:39 - 40, We believe with Job that "after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God" Job 19:26. Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Ron Tibbitts
We believe that the Jews in the days of Christ believed in God and yet Christ taught them. We believe that Christ asked us to follow Him and do what He did so that is what we try to do. We try to serve and help people weather they believe what we teach or not. “We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.” Articles of Faith 1:11. To some this may seem like a contradiction but to us it sounds like we should not judge. And that we should love all people even our enemies. Show more Show less
